Reclaimed Bank Charges SUCCESS stories

I am new to this site so I apologise if this post is not in the right section.
Could somebody please tell me whether I have to detail each individual bank charge (i.e list date and amount of each charge) or whether I can simply say "you have charged me this total over the past six years so please pay it back"?
Again I apologise if this is an obvious question but there is so much info on this site I tend to get a bit bogged down by it all!
Thanks.0 -

Have a read of the Reclaim Help Thread, link in my signature where you'll find the charges you can claim and a basic start guide.0 -
Thanks for you quick reply - I have tried on my internet banking the account has disapeared and on my phone banking and they have no record of it!
Is this normal procedure?0 -
Hi, I am also in the process of asking Abbey (Cahoot) for my charges all I have received in 2 months are two crappy letters, the last one saying they will write again in 4 weeks time! I suspect they are trying to stall/wear me down. Too late Abbey I have just filed online Court documentation, they have 14 days to respond/pay up! I had no problems with HSBC or Centrica Finance, it seems Abbey have a poor customer services system.0

Time to visit the local branch and be very loud in enquiring as to why they are concealing your records and denying you standard access, loud enough for other customers to hear. Good grief !

Yep you need a fair bit of patience dealing with Abbey - they love to take you to the court steps....keep going they always pay up in the end.

Bank: Barclays
Amount Reclaimed: £232
Amount they paid:£200
The story: I asked for my statements, they sen them free of charge - went through them and totalled it up and sent the letter asking for it back. The total amount plus interest was £232 but they've automatically creditied me £200 - Bonus!
They sent a letter saying it was a goodwill payment and that when I opened the account I was told of all the banks charges and its my responsibility to not go over my overdraft limit. They are not closing my account either.
A good result for me!
