Bank: Halifax
Amount Reclaimed: 650
Amount they paid: 650
The story: First letter as per template got a "We can take upto 8 weeks to look into this matter". Sent the second straight away and soon received a offer of £298!
Called halifax and got a dozy bloke that sounded half asleep so I immediately took the upper hand and rejected there offer, he then checked his computer and offered £400. Again I rejected and said Im happy to go to Small Claims and get the extra 8%, at which point he caved and agreed to send out a offer for £650.
Thanks Martin and to all who have posted there success stories that inspired me to go through this process...Credit cards beware Im starting on you next.0 -

Yes people have been successful with these cards and don't be fobbed off with the company saying these charges are now reduced and can't be claimed.
I've shifted your other posts into the Halifax thread here...

So write back saying thanks but no thanks, if you offer £618 before (date you intend to take court action) you will consider the matter settled.
fingers crossed..

Bank: LloydsTSB
Amount claimed: £2422.60
Amount received: £2540.26
Paid £750.00 after I threatened to take them to court and caved in totally one week before the case was due to be heard. Just like to say thanks to Martin and everyone for highlighting this problem.
I am now going after Barclays.0 -
Can I claim for a "Referral Charge"? I have a lot of these on my statements which amounts to a handy amount.
Also, when calculating the amount to claim, say if a charge is £38 do I ask for £26 (the £38 minus a £12 "fair charge" sum) or do I just ask for the £38?
They paid all my charges back within 3 weeks from the first letter.
Good luck with your claim.0
