  • Many thanks for your letter templates.

Letter sent to First Direct and they paid up £1800 out of the £2000 we were asking for.

This was after 13 days from sending the first letter demanding our money back.

Have two more claims in for Alliance and Leicester and Barclays.

    Hi

Am doing my Money Claim and am confused by this question:

Does or will your claim include any issues under the Human Rights Act 1998?
    Yes No

Could anyone help me with the answer here?

    Kind regards to all

    Hi All,
I am really annoyed I just wrote out a big speal and pressed post and it asked me to sign in loosing what I had written

So here goes again! basically I used the BBC website to get my letter for writing to the banks to claim my money back as I didn't know about this great site, and I sent an estimated charges letter as I only had 28 statements from 05-07 and some from 03.

I actually wrote in December for my charges full statements list but they never replied and so I didn't want to waste anymore time.

The bank received the letter on the 21st Feb. and had not replied until yesterday the last day in the 14 day window I had given them!!!

It basically says that they are investigating and will give a full response as soon as they have completed.

So my question was should I take this as unsatisfactory (because it is, VERY) and carry on with filling a court claim or should I wait until they come back to me?

And if I do proceed with the moneyclaim what address do I use for them? My local branch, the service quality team as on this letter pr the head office address?

    Thanks Lizz :D

    Hi

First direct filed a defence against my court claim yesterday, I was a bit worried but determined to go all the way, but WHAT a supprise when I got home from work today there was a letter from their solicitors with an offer of 2444.66 (sorry no pound sign) my claim was for 2530.66, they took about80.00 off as they said I had gone over the six years, this was not true at the time, but is now as some time has passed. This is a good offer and I am going to accept, they can keep the 80.00 and have a drink on me !!

My question is do I now stop the court proceedings ? or wait untill I have the cash in my hands ?

Also at the bottom of the letter it said that 'HSBC also reasonably requires your conformation that you will treat this payment as confidential !! That really made me laugh. Will be raising a glass tonight to MR HSBC :rotfl:

Will post on the sucess board when I have the money, but in the mean time huge thanks to all who helped especially Edinburghlass and rex x:T

Help this is my first time, not sure if I`m doing this right. I have tried to reclaime my bank charges from abbey and all they have sent me is one years bank statments not the last six years. What do I do now

Some banks send the statements out in batches so it could be you have more to come, please contact the bank and ask them. If it is now outside the 40 days they have to provide the info/statements you should report them to the Information Commission, link is in Martin's article.
