Just received a lovely letter from the cooperative bank telling me thier charges are fair but as a gesture of good will have refunded me £331.50 :j  the full amount claimed and it only took 3 weeks and 2 letters the second being the court threat/promise.
Hopefully the nationwide will be as forthcoming

I have been on the phone all afternoon trying to sort this out now! I contacted Cobbetts and I have now also contacted the financial ombudsman as I have been told even If I agreed to the offer as a whole, because I am in the court process the money will still not be paid into my account.
The Financial ombudsman have sent a letter to them and I am hoping this can get sorted out asap. It's silly really that I am accepting their offer but they seem to want to take it all the way now...hey ho!0 -
Bank - First direct
Amount claimed - £3013 + £500 interest
Amount paid up - £2560
This was so simple. I wrote to the bank a month ago asking for list of charges using your template. I received about 300 pages of statements very quickly.
I followed your guide and wrote back suppling details of charges etc.
A week later I got a letter from the bank agreeing to pay me £2560, although they there is no admission of liability on their behalf and not willing to pay interest.
Thank you very much indeed

Hope I'm in the right place! This is the first time I've been on here!
I'm reclaiming bank charges from Northern Rock - has anybody had any luck with them? and can I reclaim charges of £7 per month for authorised overdraft charges they have made over the last 6 years?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

ANYONE ANY ADVICE FOR ME;- had a FIRST DIRECT account when I was working 5yrs ago and then got overdrawn etc etc anyway when i was on benefits they threatened me with court but sent it to a debt collecting agency and now i pay it at the door every month since. I realized a few weeks ago that this was probably due to overcharges etc and have told the bloke today that I have sent a leter to F Direct to claim it all back £800+interest[my card from bloke still owes £216.00}and that I am not paying him until I hear from FD. He says that if and when I hear I will still have to pay him the £216 I owe surely the rest of what I owe would be cancelled out or is this correct. any advice would be welcomed.0
