Can anyone help me !! I have written 5 letters and sent of 5 cheques , all the accounts are in my name with the same bank. These are buisness ones (can`t see the difference as to charges) and all the cheques have been cashed , only went to the bank today and have a credit for £40 . When l enquired about the credit l was told that l only needed one £10 cheque and it covered all accounts in my name. Has anyone had this happen to them , l also got the lady to write it down on bank headed note paper and sign it ! can`t be to careful !!!

This is perfectly correct, nothing to worry about.

I'm just amazed the bank was so efficient!

You certainly can claim these fees. Take a look through the Barclaycard thread, as this lot can be slippery!!

asked last night but no one answered so here i am trying again.
sent off my ten pounds to clydesdale bank got letter confirmation from them that they will send statements out within the 40 days.
received letter yesterday 2 days before 40 days up stating that they cannot get them within the 40 days and saying i can wait or contact the ICO .
spoke to them today they say as a result of the number claiming back they cannot give them within the time limit. does this affect anything? can they change or is this maybe a delaying tactic?
    thanks, b

With their vast resources they should be able to furnish the requests within the timeframe specified by the DPA.

Send them a letter telling them know this is unacceptable and you will be contacting the Information Commissioner. Also write your letter to the IC.

Did you send it Registered post? These sort of requests tend to go 'missing'!

The Yorkshire Building Society have given me 30 days notice that it will close my account, they have given the option to "fall on my sword" so to speak.

Is it to my disadvantage to have a bank close your account?
    Halifax: claimed £1,028, received £1,028
Yorkshire Building Society: claimed £1,070, received £1,134.20
    Co-Operative Bank: claimed £560, received £575
BOS Mastercard: claiming £184, 2nd letter sent 27/3/07
Capital One Visa 1: claiming £439, 2nd letter sent 27/3/07
Capital One Visa 2: claiming £842, 2nd letter sent 27/3/07
