    Hi there

Can I get some help on what to do please!

I sent my letters to clydedale bank and I'm still awaiting my bank statements, They are near the 40 days end and I have just got a letter saying that they are running behind schedule and I won't get my bank statements for another couple of weeks.
I called to ask about time scales and they just didn't know cause they are so busy.

But I did ask for my £10 to be refunded which they said they will do.

What should I do now. I haven't got my statements to work out how much they owe me. Should I just wait or whats the next step?

I have been with the bank for 20 years and on personal basis they have always been really nice but I'm scared they might close my other joint account which has my mortgage coming off it.

Can the close all my account or just the one I'm asking about checking the charges over ??

    thanks very much in advance

When Barclays wrote with a first offer and I wrote back to reject it, I informed them I'd be charging them £30 for the letter as I don't have their economy of scale to automatically send out letters, and also because they were wasting my time defending unlawful charges.

My question is - is it worth trying to add this £30 onto the amount when I log the internet court claim? And if so, can anyone suggest a modified template to use?

Urmmm... nice try but hypothetically they could expect you to defend the charge, with full disclosure of your actual cost in court, or refund them.

Hi everyone... Does anyone know whether the unfair bank charges applies to Business Accounts? My brother is self employed and has been hammered by Lloyds for the past 5 - 6 years and as he is a small one man band business, he is getting deeper into debt. I have asked the Financial Ombudsman and they say yes but did not give me any confidence. My son's girlfriend who is an accountant does not think it applies - please help

    Hi
I am claiming back £1214 from Nationwide for my son. I am just in the process of completing the MoneyClaim Online and got to the charges bit. I was a bit alarmed to see that they had charged me £120. Am a bit scared now, as I cannot afford to lose £120 if we do not win the case. Any advice please....I would be very grateful.

Hilary - this is tough isn't it? Horrible having to pay out money when you're not 100% sure you'll get it back... Don't worry, do pay the court fee, it is added to your claim and you will get it back. Even if, as often happens, you get an offer before the 14/28 day period, you must ask them to refund you the court fee as part of any settlement.

I would swallow the horrible fee, basically, you've got this far and you won't get any further without proceeding. Go for it! Lou

Hi, I am in the process of doing a claim for myself and one for my husband, both with LTSB. I received my statements about 6 weeks ago all in one envelope and am now in the process of taking them to court. My husband received his yesterday in 64 individual envelopes with a letter in each stating that he would get a couple of envelopes. Does anyone else think this is a little excessive and a waste of money and not very good for the environment.

You can do it as one claim but be aware the bank will probably pay any monies back into one account so make sure its the account you want the money to go into.
    thanks Edinburghlass.

    Hello

We've made a bit of a boo boo. We accidentally did compound rather than statutory interest of 8% and have now filed. Nationwide say they're going to defend the claim, which in itself isn't worrying us, but can they win because we messed up on the interest accidentally? We didn't add the interest until the court stage.

Please help. Thanks for any advice.

My story so far is that I wrote the first letter to HSBC on the 13th February and got the standard reply back from them that they would get back to me in due course. I sent the second letter on the 27th February threatening Court Action and have heard nothing further since. I telephone their Customer Services to be told that they were still looking into it. I am claiming just over £3,000 with Court fees it will be approx £3,500.

My question is are they stalling - should I go ahead with the Court action or wait a little longer for a reply.

Has anyone else experienced this senario with HSBC before - if so please tell me what happened.

    Help:confused:

Yes you can claim in the same way for business accounts just amend the template letters accordingly and good luck :)

Personally I have always stuck to my own time frames rather than the banks.

If they haven't got time to look that's their problem in my point of view - you told them what would happen in your letter so just go ahead with your court claim.

I've done this with 3 banks now and it's done me no harm :D
