    Hi there,

I phoned MBNA in January and was waiting on statements - not received them yet. Spoke to them today and they said they would order again for me - but it would cost me £2.50 per statement. Are they allowed to do this?

If you ask for statements the banks can and do charge per statement, you must use the letter in Martin's article where you ask for the information under the Data Protection Act, links are in Martin's article.

    Hi,

I,m trying to get Martin's particulars of claim template to fir the online court claim but cannot seem to get there. The maximum allowed is 1080 characters on 24 lines. Do the gaps count as lines? With or without gaps I still get 26/27 lines and about 1090 characters!! Help!!

    Allocation Questionnaire.

Any suggestions as to what should be written in Section G Other Information on the AQ. ?

In the space below, set out any other information you consider will help the Judge to manage or clarify the claim, including any other information you consider should be supplied bu the other party.

Is there what you might call a 'standard template' for this section ?

Any help much appreciated, have to get the AQ back to my local court by
    Friday.

    Bank: First Direct
    Amount Reclaimed:£3684
    Amount they paid:£2900
The story: Took about a month in total from my first letter to the final letter from them offering settlement. The amount I could actually claim is less than that stated above as I added a few 'service costs' rather than 'charges' so I am happy to take the money.

Very pleased indeed and so happy that I made it a resolution to get on top of my finances - a big THANK YOU to Martin and the other people who are raising awareness of this. Cheers!
  • Just to let you all know that Bank of Scotland (now with Halifax) have finally capitulated to my demand of the refund of all illegal charges over the past 6 years.

In a phone call today they tried to make an offer of around £600, which I laughed at. They called me back half an hour later and, if I agreed to drop the claim for interest of £228.00 said they'd settle my claim of £2,493.00 in full, which they are crediting back to my account in the next 14 days.

    People power works!!

I'd also like to say to anyone wondering about the hassle - there is none! Remain calm, follow the instructions and they will (albeit ungraciously) pay up.

BIG BIG thanks to Mr Lewis and moneysavingexpert.com

    Amount Reclaimed:£932
    Amount they paid:£792
The story: was quite happy to accept, as most of the charges were over 2 years ago, and had written them off. After going over my overdraft limit last Christmas by £2, and being charged, I was furious and decided to take action, then realised I could claim back for the last 6 years!! :T

Thanks Martin your a legend ..
