    Hi Ya,
i have 2 accounts with Nat West, i am claiming back charges on both of them, when i get to the stage of having to put in my court claim, which i'm expecting to do, can i add the amounts up from both accounts & claim it all back in one, or will i have to submit two claims to the courts, as it's charges from 2 different accounts?
both accounts are at the same branch.

    Thanks,
    Les

    Hi All

I submitted a claim for bank charges to HSBC on 26th Feb giving them 14 days to resolve the problem.

I got a letter on last Friday 9th saying they were 'looking into it' - do I ignore this and send my 'letter before action' showing my intention to proceed with a court claim now

    Thanks
    Gaz

I rang when i received this letter from HSBC - they said it could up to 4 weeks to get round to replying. Advice throughout this forum is to stick to your timescales. Send the seven day LBA next. I sent mine to HSBC two weeks ago and still have heard nothing so I issued two claims on MCOL against them. Doubt i'll hear anything for a while.

So, stick to the timescales you've given in your letter and follow up accordingly to Martin's procedure...

Thank you for the reply Lou.

In Martins standard letter showing LBA, there is a line "and therefore the [INSERT NAME OF COURT] court will rule in my favour."

How do I find out which court I should insert into the space - do I look up my local country court?

    Cheers

No reliance should be placed on the above.

You can do it as one claim but be aware the bank will probably pay any monies back into one account so make sure its the account you want the money to go into.
  • Just a quick note to let you all know how simple and easy it was reclaiming the account charges from Halifax.

    1. Feb 6th - Recieved statements / Worked out how much I was owed (£1617) and sent the 2nd letter asking for my refund.

    2. Feb 17th - Recieved a letter from Halifax stating they were sorry to learn that I was unhappy, Blah! Blah! Blah! And that they had 8 weeks to investigate, as set by the rules of the financial services authority. I thought about the letter and then decided I would give them 4 weeks to see what they came up with.

    3. Mar 12th(Today) - Recieved a letter from Halifax offering me (£1242) as a measure of good will. I gave them a ring and said that I was not happy with the offer, The nice chap asked me to hold the line, then 2 minuites later he offered me the full amount(£1617)

Get in! what a good piece of news that was. No courts, No nasty letters, just a bit of Patience and all was well.

    Good luck to you all!

  • Am helping my sons to reclaim their charges. HSBC £779 incl interest and Barclays £1956 incl interest. Received the statements, sent letter of claim. response from Barclays just on 14days, saying looking into it and will 'let you have an answer or update no leter than 27th March'. No response at all from HSBC. Should we go ahead with stage 3 (letter advising court action within 14 days) on both accounts, and if so please can someone advise me on what to insert in the template under 'insert court'. Is this 'small claims' or the court name local to me and where do I find this? We live in Nottinghamshire.:
