Bank: Nationwide Building Society
Amount Reclaimed: £4,233.93
Amount they paid:£3,790.34
The story:
Claim partially settled conflict on date, I have however written to ask for settlement from the date I first wrote.
They only paid up 10 days before deadline they had to file there defence following the issue of court proceedings.
I would advise anyone to hold in there hold your nerve they do not want to go to court, I would advise anyone thinking about writing to there bank to do it now.

Bank: Lloyds TSB
amount claimed: £4999
amount paid: £5219
Just wanted to let people know of my success story in the hope that it will encourage people to keep going. Checked my account online on Friday and Lloyds had, out of the blue, paid in the full amount of the claim plus the amount that it had cost me to put the claim in. We were due in court next Tuesday for an allocation hearing. I didn't think they would back down yet but am very glad they did, my daughter and I had a lovely weekend!!
To everyone who is still going through the process, keep going, you will get there, and to those few who helped me out with advice, THANKYOU!!0 -
I sent the first letter demanding my penalty fees (they called it commision fees!). I had a reply stating they hope I would have confidence in them again and it would be look into urgently and a customer service chap would phone me within 7 days. That letter was written on the 5th march. So if I havent heard by the 12th march, shall I ring them or send a letter threatening legal action?. They owe me £105.06 (will have to work out latest interest).
Its 14 days per letter + 2 for the post.the way forward is the consumer action group .co.uk0 -
Monument
Amount Claimed: £36.00
Amount Received: £24.00
Although not a huge amount of money this is one of several credit cards that I am claiming so I hope it will be this easy with the rest.
Accepting £24.00 as they said that the last £12.00 charge that I got charged was in line with OFT - cant really argue with that so accepting the £24.00.
This was offered after the first letter which I had a response within 5 days.
Lets just hope that all the other companies pay out with limited hassle!
Thanks to this site - I wouldnt of done it without all of you
Thanks

Hello
I received a letter on Saturday morning with an offer from my bank following my attempt to reclaim unfair charges.
Bank - HSBC
Amount Reclaimed - £3600
Amount Offered - £3100 :rotfl:
I simply sent the first letter to request the charges and received a generic 'we are dealing with your request' letter. I replied to this with a threat to take them to court and a seven day deadline to reply.
On the seventh day I received the reply which states that this is a goodwill payment as they do not agree the bank charges were unlawful and that they would probably win if taken to Court.
They can hold onto their principles if they want to, I am just happy to receive £3000+. As a DFW this will go a long way to achieving a debt free life. :beer:Proud to be dealing with my debts! :T0 -
Bank - Capital One
Amount Claimed - £268.00
Amount Offered - £318.49 (including interest and court fee) :j
Sent all letters, didn't get anywhere with them so started court process. They acknowledged then a few days later I got a letter in the post saying they don't agree with fees...do not accept liability for the claim...don't want to go to court...etc. and that as a gesture of goodwill ( ) they had credited my account.0 -
hi all. ive just spoke to my bank regarding statements that i requested 3 weeks ago, they are saying to expect them in the next week, time is getting on, can i go into my local branch and request them there as ive paid for the statements??
They have by law got 40 days to provided this information, if they do do it in 28 days great but don't be surprised if it takes the full 40 days, nothing you can do yet as they have still got time to fufill your request...0 -
Is there a definitive address, as yet, for the Data Access Request and charges breakdown for Lloyds TSB ? So far, we've Penny Berryman at Pentagon House, the Recovery Service Centre, Colemore Row, B'ham; the Copy Statement Unit, Swallow House, B'ham; Customer Care, Colemore Row, B'ham and the DSAR Team, Andover.
Having sent my letter, Recorded Delivery to Penny Berryman, I have received no reply as yet and neither does Royal Mail have any tracking info. In my view, this letter has NOT been signed for and therefore i cannot verify its receipt whatsover.
If anyone has an answer for the correct address, I would be very grateful.
It's clear that the confusion can only result in worrying delays in reclaiming.
Rgds,
