hi does anyone know that after claiming back charges do the banks carry on administering further chargesregards dave

Yes they do. I had GBP2,120 from A&L and they wrote about two months later to say they were shutting my account which is fine by me. In the meantime they had stacked up another GBP550 in charges so I'm gonna get them for that as well.

    Mini Success
    Natwest main account reclaiming £838.62

I thought before I send off the letter and amounts for the main account I would give them a ring and ask them for £38 they charged me on my other account, I have NEVER got in trouble with it until the end of January when I miss calculated a payment going out by one day, council tax didnt get paid,

SUCCESS!!! after a very polite conversation to one of the branch members I got a phone call saying they would reimburse my £38 at branch level :)

Now I just have to get this £800 back!!

Seems to be a standard response about the FSA giving them 8 weeks, but as you say this is a request for a return of charges not a compaint so yes go ahead with next letter when the 14 days are up, stick to your timescales....

Yes that's definately what it is...delaying tactics!

Good for you though - stick to your own timescale not theirs. If we stuck by theirs not one of us would have got our money back yet! :o
  • Bank: Halifax Bank plc

    Ammount Claimed: £3862.00
    Amount Offered: £3500.00

    The Story:
    1. I sent first letter requesting charges and got a reply saying it was not possibble for them to repay me.

2.I sent my second letter threatening to go to court, and got a reply back which said they have put my complaint through to the customer relations dept.

    3. After two weeksI called the customer relations dept to find out that it takes them up to eight weeks for them to take a decision.

    3. After two weeks (today) I got a phone call, lady offered me £2500.00 which i refused. I told her that the minimum I would accept would be £3500.00 which she has agreed on.

I should get this payment in my account within fourteen days or earlier (as mentioned by the lady), she is also sending out a letter confirming this agreement between us! About my bank acoount, well she did'nt mention it going to be closed, so im assuming it wont!
