    Hi guys,

I need help. I am currently claiming back £140 from Egg Credit card. They have replied to my first letter offering me the difference between £20 and £16 (which they say the OFT asked them to do). Obviously £28 (the difference of £4 on seven occasions) isn't acceptable. They told me that £16 is a higher figure than the £12 everybody else charges because they have more people defaulting (due to the fact that all Egg credit card customers have direct debits). This baffles me as surely it should be worked out on how much it costs not how many people default???

Anyone have any experience of dealing with Egg as they have told me there will be no further offer. I stated (on the phone) that if this is the case then I would commence the court proceedings.

  • I Have Had Exactly The Same As You. I Have Now Completed The Allocation Questionaire And Had To Pay An Extra £100. My Hearing Is The End Of The Month. I Have Spoken To A Member Of Staff At The Court And She Stated That Due To There Being So Many Cases Involving The Unfair Charges That They Are Being Heard In Bulk. She Said To Be Confident If You Have To Provide Evidence In Front Of A Judge And Have To Hand All Of The Facts And Required Paperwork. Remember It's Your Money , They Had No Right To Take It And Can Be Classed As Theft Depending On How You Look At It

I would just stick to your guns and carry on as normal. Send them a letter saying you do not accept their offer and give them 7 days or so to reply then carry on with your claim.
I'm currently claiming from Egg on my credit card also and I've read on here that they seem to be one of the banks that are digging their heels in and dragging it out. So long as you stick to the step by step guide, you should be fine ;)

    Bank: Lloyds TSB
    Amount Claimed: £594
    Amount Refunded: £594

This one dragged on for ever! I started the process back in October sending all of the letters before filing a claim on MCOL.

I received, completed and returned the AQ and eventually received notification that I was to attend a meeting with the judge and LLoyds TSB to discuss how the case should proceed. This was due to take place on the 26th March.

Checked my online banking this morning to find that they had refunded the full amount.

    Thanks to everyone that helped.
  • I've got £1500 owed to me by Natwest and was starting to sort out the letters. Bit nervous as I've been with them for 16 years and now I may have to cut all ties and get a new bank account with someone else and learn a new number!

Someone I work with mentioned this software **website removed** that is supposed to make the whole process easier and more automated. Anyone using it? Is it worth it?

    Hi!

Personally I have never heard of the ******** but I have just used Martin's step-by-step guide and it is really easy and straighforward - worked for me anyway :D

Thanks to this site, I started the process of reclaiming charges from Lloyds about 2 weeks ago by asking for all my statements. I have received no statements so far. What would be a reasonable time frame to follow them up?

I can hardly send the reclaiming money letter if I can't check my statements to get a total ahaha!

    Many thanks
