Hi ive posted my letter to abbey with my £10 asking for my statements on the 26th feb. Today i recived a letter say that they acknowledge my £10 they are going to send my 14 months worth of statements within in 5-7 days but it say any previous transactions have been archived onto microfiche and is not possible to provideyou with a computer print out of the information. However,we have made arragements to send you a list of archived transactions between 2001-2005,under separate cover. With regards to any manual interventions that may have been made on the account. We consider manual interventions to mean an action that is not automatic or computer-driven.Not all manual interventions are recorded, for example if a member of staff looks at a paper document relating to a account, a record is not always required. Similary some interventions may relate to work carried out by a deparment rather than individuals where no central record of activity is kept becuase this is not the kind of information we need, or more importantly, that a customer would usually request. Dose that mean that they will still be sending me my list of charges or statments and how long do ii need to wait till i can send the second letter.0

Hi, a friend of mine is currently claiming from Capital One credit card, she's only sent the first letter so far.
They've just written to her saying that they're willing to give her back the difference between what she was charged and £12, which is their new charge level.
This would be £64 back from £200.
Can anyone advise? Should she continue & send LBA? Are they just trying to wriggle out or can they do this now?

They can offer whatever they like, it is basically a negotiation at the moment, the final decision is down to your friend.. Personally I would not accept this offer, as I do not think it cost them £12 to print the fee on your statement, lets face it that's about all they do, I would let them know that you acknowledge their offer and decline to accept and will be continuing with your claim.. Again I must state this is my opinion and your friend must decide what is best for her.....0 -
BANK - Halifax
CLAIM - £2045 + interest
RECEIVED - £1995
This is on behalf of my best mate who would not have gone ahead if I hadn't badgered the life out of her to go ahead. She was AFRAID & I am pleased to say that she has settled her claim before my Barclays claim has completed!
My turn next... still waiting - submitted MCOL today for £1428.15 against Barclays.

I got this from them also but just carried on with my claim regardless. They are just trying to get away with saving themselves some extra money when they know fine well you can claim back every penny0 -

I sent the second letter to Abbey on the 4th March giving them 2 weeks to respond, before taking them to court, they recieved it on the 6th of March and today we have received a letter saying that they are investigating our claim but in order for them to investigate fully they will get back to us within 4 weeks. My question is do I need to wait the 4 weeks or should I continue with court proceedings after the fortnight as I stated in my letter?

Personally I would stick to your own time scales - not theirs. This is just one of their many delaying tactics :mad:0 -

Stick to your timescale, it's long enough, start the claim when the 14 days is up or they will just string it out for as long as poss.. And reading these threads Abbey seem to be one of the one's that take it to the last stage before settling so the longer they can delay for the better as far as they're concerned...0
