I claimed £152 back from Natwest on 7th January but only had a standard photocopied reply in response. I then instigated proceedings using the online Money Claim site on 1st March, and today have received an offer from Natwest for the full £152 which obviously I'm happy with. However, I have now paid out £30 for the court action, have I lost this if I accept their offer? Can the court refund the £30 or is it too late? If I proceed with the court action, will they rule in Natwest's favour given that they've offered the full £152?

If my claim was for £1000's I don't think I'd mind losing out on £30 too much, but given that's 1/5th of the amount I'm reluctant to accept it's just lost.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

i submitted a claim for bank charges against the halifax bank on 5th march and today recieved notification from the court that this will come into effect on the 10th march but notice had been served to the halifax, is it just coincidence tonight that i am not able to access my online bank account?, by not being able to do this am io to assume that the account has been closed by the halifax?, i do have a parachute account but wondered if any other halifax online bankers have had their accounts frozen after they had submitted a claim. thanks in advance.

I have just pressed the go button for the online application and horror! I should have input Birkenhead County Court as my local court - just paid the 120 and printed off the form and it states Northampton County Court which isnt anywhere near me HELP!! what did I do wrong and how can I change this!!!!
Nat West - MCOL March - FatWest defended - hearing date 4 July - 2300 claimed and still having charges put onto account!!

HSBC - sent 14 day - still waiting for reply. MCOL by end of week - claiming 795 - eventually paid out £560.

Halifax - sent for statements Feb - cheque cashed - nothing received - reported to FSA - paid up almost amount claimed before official complaint registered with FSA

The court allocated is the court nearest to MCOL which is Northampton, if/once it goes further MCOL will transfer it to the court nearest to you.
  • Hi - i thought it was about time i registered to this excellent site and told you my story and would like to know from any other Abbey customers if they have had any problems or success!!!

I'm claiming in the region of £3,500 of charges from Abbey. I'm overdrawn at the moment to the tune of £1,500 and opened an account elsewhere before i started this process...

I got a letter from Abbey a week or so ago to say they were sorry i was unhappy with the charges and i understand i would like these refunded. They offered me as a gesture of goodwill about £1,200. I've gone back and said thank you for the offer, but no thank you, i would like the full amount. I've said that if i don't receive this in 7-10 days, i'll continue and take legal action.... As yet not heard anything..... they've got a few days to go until i go down the Moneyclaim system....

Reading all the discussion on here, i don't see many people having much luck with Abbey..... is anyone else in the same boat as me with this bank.

Help! Have asked before but it got lost in the thread...

Sent 14 day letter to HSBC in Canada Sq instead of Leeds by Recorded Deliver - It was delivered. Sent 7 day LBA letter to Leeds. Received standard 'investigating claim' letter.

Question: Can issue claim on MCOL tomorrow, but could I jeopardise the process because I sent letter 1 to slightly incorrect address? Or shall i just go ahead because HSBC received the first one anyway, albeit at the wrong place.

Desperate to sue sue sue... Lou

Can I ask one more question please. Do the bank now have 14 days to acknowledge and if they dont I win - or if they do - do they then get a further 14 days - 28 in all - to defend? Cheers

dont worry, this is correct! they all go to northampton at first and then if it goes further it will be heard at the court you stated.
