sorry if this has been posted before - i have searched!

i have sent two letters in three months to barclaycard asking for statements/charges and been ignored.

so in my 'wisdom' i decided not to pay them my normal minumum amount until they responded so i've just paid £10 total in the last three months...

today i decided to write a letter and *lightbulb* enclose the £10 cheque (should have done that in the first place) and stated that i would like it to be sorted quickly so i can get my account back to normal (ie i'll pay them again)...

however, today's post came and it was a letter from mercers debt collections limited giving me a default notice for a barclaycard payment (not the entire debt, just the amount due)...

now of course i'm still claiming my unfair charges but meanwhile... do i deal with mercers and tell them that i can't pay as i'm waiting for barclaycard to respond or do i call barclaycard and ask them to accept a small payment until this matter of unfair charges is resolved?

not sure how to deal with a debt collections agency!

    any advice appreciated!! x

  • Hello there, I am at the start of claiming our bank charges for last 6 years, however, we currently have an internet current account with Smile Bank (part of Co-operative Bank) so dont receive letters to tell us if we are over our overdraft. We have hwoever, been charged a £5 per day fee for being over the limit as well as all the other usual interest charges and overdraft fees. Can I claim back the £5 daily charge does anyone know?
