    Hi,

Thanks to this website i received a letter last night from Co-Op Bank offering me the full amount of charges back plus interest. My question is that i have also received a letter from Capital One only offering a quarter of the amount back, does anyone know what letter template i could use to refuse this offer and re-ask for the full amount back? Or should i just call them?

Any advice would be greatly apperciated.

    Thanks
    Vicky

Would the charges have been from the account the money was paid from to this loan account rather than charged directly to the loan account?

Normally on loans though they apply the fees to the loan account as this is what has happened with other loans I have had.

I sent my first letter to HSBC reclaiming £1900 in charges this week. However I have new charges of £100 due to be debited from my account in 2 weeks. Can anyone tell me if I will need to reclaim this £100 separately once it has been debited?

    Thanks Claire

hi, im so sorry i am new to all this. Your site is fab thank-you. Im so sorry i have to ask a stupid question, when we talk about unfair bank charges does that mean mortgage payment charges too ? My husband sometimes has been a couple of days late paying and they have charged £30 per letter for telling us. (all sorted now its DD) so can i claim on this or is it just bank accounts?

    Hi!
In middle of process of claiming back bank charges from Barclays. First letter I sent got no response so I sent 2nd letter threatening court action if no response by next wednesday. Got a reply today saying they are very sorry bout my complaint etc and are looking into it very quickly but may have to wait till 28th march for a reply. Can they do this? Can I still go ahead with court action next wednesday?

You follow your own timetable, if they do not respond by next wednesday then file your claim.

If they have not refunded you after 14 days for the first letter you have the opportunity to add the £100 to the schedule of charges in the second letter that you send.
