One letter and a telephone call from them and the money was in my account in less than 10 days from date of letter.
Bank: MBNA
Amount reclaimed: £0
Amount Paid: £94
Sent letter requesting statements and an offer for £94 came as a goodwill gesture opposed to £190 original charges. Not bad...I accepted.

HELP!
I have completed the first template letter asking for my charges for the last six years with HBOS I did it on the 24th January, I have just received a reply today which says that duplicate statements have been ordered and will be sent out. It also states that if I requested information relating to manual intervention on my account HBOS plc is under no statutory obligation to record this information and are unable to assist with this request, does this just mean that they don't have to give me the actual charges on the account? How do I know which charges to use when I get the statements is it every charge I see on it for interest, charges etc or do I have to disclude certain charges when I total them all up?
Any help would be appreciatedBORN TO RIDE - FORCED TO DRIVE

Hi All,
Just to let you all know, I have spoken to Customer Relations at HBOS and they have advised me that as a gesture of goodwill they are sending out statements FREE OF CHARGE.
Not sure if this is true as they took the 2 x £10 postal orders i sent in but they have a telephone number which is 08456 03 79 23, however, this is for the Bank Of Scotland which in a way is in the end Halifax so in a way is HBOS. Try it and see what do you have to lose you may in the end save yourself £10 each statement, however, if you are just looking for a list of Bank Charges then this is only £5 from HBOS.
My advice try and call first............
Good Luck all
will keep you all upto date with my claims.
1 with HBOS £180
1 with HBOS £??? awaiting further statements never sent the full 5 years
1 with RBS £9980 -
Bank: HSBC
Amount Claimed: £2176.00
Amount Repayed: £1849.00
I sent the my letter to them asking for the amount of £2176 on the 25th of January 2007. I got a reply form them two weeks after saying they were 'looking into my claim'. then on the 28th of February 2007 i got a letter saying that they were not liable and that i accepted the terms and conditions of the account but that they were going to offer a settlement of £1849.00 as a goodwill gesture and to close the matter.I am accepting this amount:D
Thank you Martin for a very helpful letter template.
I am spreading the word of this amazing site and to anyone thinking of claiming DO IT!!:money:0 -

I sent a letter to A&L requesting list of charges as I had a loan with them. This loan was settled in 2004 but I know I definately missed quite a lot of payments on this loan as I got into a bit of a state.
However, I received this reply from them yesterday:
"I understand you were requesting details of any charges which were incurred on the above personal loan account which was completed in 2004.
I can confirm that no administration charges or fees were applied during the life of this account"
I presume they couldn't lie about this but don't understand how they haven't made any charges when I missed a lot of payments.
Has anyone else had a loan with them around 2004 and if so, did you get charged for missing payments etc?
Any advice on what to do next? Do I just take there word or ask for a full copy of statements? Don't want to pay a fee if they are correct though
Hi!
Just wondered if anyone could help me with the above please?0 -
Would the charges have been from the account the money was paid from to this loan account rather than charged directly to the loan account?Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0
