Thanks Karen but I should have explanined more. I'm after a formula which will calculate the amount of interest owed for each charge as :money: does. I used :money: interest calculator for my first claim but my computers playing silly beggers and I can't export martins calc into excel to add in the charge details. I'm afetr the formula so I can calc the interest within my spreadsheet. Just to save time transcribing it all across from :money: .
Hope that makes sense, I did use the formula I thought should work
Int = CHarge amount x no. days since charge incurred x 0.02, but got different values to :money: ,
Any Ideas????So far:-
HSBC £2515 incl int claimes, settled on £1998:j
Abbey - £2995 claimed, offered £1098, accepted as part payment and proceed to next stage, response not satisfactory so currently with Ombudsman
Cap 1 - settled on charge difference:j
Barclaycard - settled on charge difference:j
MBNA - 1 account settled in full, £993:beer:
- 2nd account settled on difference:T
HSBC Visa - no charges amazingly!!:rotfl:
Household Bank Visa - settled on charge difference:T
ACE catalogue - settled in full after 1 letter!!!:beer:0 -
Shed78 wrote:Does anyone have the address to write to to reclaim from the Royal Bank of Scotland, (they've just charged me £39 for a returned Direct Debit with a credit card company that I've never set up!!!!). I called the telephone banking and they said to refer to my branch!! I've got the letter ready to go....
Send it to your branch.0 -
Amount Claimed £39
Amount Paid £39
I know it's not much, but after 11 years without ever going overdrawn, the Halifax bounced a £1150 cheque as I would have been overdrawn by 17p for one day. I was spoken to like a moron when I complained in the branch and was told "You can do that at the counter" when I told them I would shut my business account, 2 X current accounts and switch my mortgage.
Had to get to the legal action threat letter but was well worth it just for the satisfaction (I will close the accounts as well now !!!). Cheers Martin, Cancer Research will receive my cheque soon.0 -
Hello,
I am new here so i'm not sure whether i am in the correct 'arena'.
First of all, thank you so much fto mondy expertr for providing such an informative site and helping me reclaim £690 of illegal charges accrued over 6 years from Alliance and Leicester.
The downside of what has happened is I have just received a letter from A and L today informing me that they wish me to leave their current account by the end of March. Where do I stand in this instance? I would like to leave but on my own terms and feel now that, if I apply for a current account with another bank, they will know of me as a 'trouble maker' and will refuse my application; thus I can be stranded financially. If the bank have no right to chuck me out, what are my options?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer me.
regards

The bank- RBS
Amount claimed- £2000
Amount accepted £1788
Sent off DPA letter in November and received statements within a week. After sending letter one our claim was rejected. Letter two and a reminder letter was sent which resulted in four 'holding' letters. My husband evenually phoned the bank and they agreed a settlement figure on the phone. I would urge money savers to call their banks after the leters have been sent.
One very happy girl!:rotfl:Skint- Gall

SMILE BANK
Claimed 375.00
Received £325.00.
Accepted as received into my bank account 3 days after letter one sent.
I am now in the process of claiming £1800 from HSBC, Money claim online, Claim issued today.
Still waiting for Alliance and Leicester to pull their finger out and send me my statements from last 6 years.
They tried to charge me £360.00 after requesting them on 29/01/07. Any ideas on how to speed them up?
Also, waiting for cahoot to send my statements. They also tried to charge me £5 per statement.
Do they not read the papers or watch the news???
You would think they would get the message and stop trying to pull the wool over our eyes!!
Anyway, thats £325 towards a holiday for my 2 terminally ill Nephews. We will beat the Banker!
will keep you posted!!!0 -
Bank:Halifax
Amount Claimed:£1848
Amount Accepted:£1498
Again with some other's i guess it does cost them some to send the letters etc etc & not wanting to be too greedy accepted the above amount as being new to the site i was a little sceptical to sat with they would actually pay but i followed the steps & didn't even have to send the "Threaten Court Action" letter which surprised me even more - whey hey!0 -
Edinburghlass wrote:Yes and use the Interest Calculator entering each charge individually with the date as then the interest is worked out on each charge back to the date it was charged i.e. a charge made in 2003 will have more interest than a charge made in 2006.
Thanks EL, will pop the letter in the post box tomorrow!!..
I tried using the calculator but I dont think it can cope with the amount of charges I have!, It stopped letting me enter my charges after Jan 2005! at which point I was already on £6k inc interest!
