Reclaimed Bank Charges SUCCESS stories

I have today started proceedings to reclaim charges from, Natwest, Barclaycard, Monument, & City Cards. This action was spurred by the actions of Barclaycard reducing my credit when I most needed it after being in the black for a year +. I was so annoyed that they can treat me as a they wish I decided to take some sort of action and reclaiming some of my money back, something I should of done a long time ago! Listeneing to J.V and martin every friday afternoon going on about this has brought this to my attention.
So 1st. letter asking for info on charges letter will be sent on Monday, one question, do I send them recorded delivery?
I no longer bank with Natwest as I left them in disgust over the snowballing charges. same for Citi Cards and Monument. I can still claim yes? its been a couple of years since!!0 -
Ok so its only £89 but every little helps.
Used Martins templates 1&2 and then switched to ombudsman route as I don't fancy the courts
They ignored next letter so resent recorded post. Pointed out their charges were outside the ombudsman's own guides of charges and that it would cost them £360 if the complaint registered.
Payed up within 3 days.:money:0 -
Just had £1060 refunded from Lloyds TSB.
Took 8 months, several letters from the Financial Ombudsman, and they settled before going to court.
Thank you all on here for your help)

Just to Clarify. I do not work for a bank but as mentioned by others in previous posts some people are just trying it on and it will backfire.0

Hi there! Can you point me in the right direction to get an answer to the following question. Might sound silly but when claiming back my charges do I do the following: Original charge = £30 - so I will put a claim in for, say £25.50 (minus £4.50 generous actual cost). Hope you can clarify this for me. Have looked all over the site for an answer but not managed to find one. Many thanks. Hopeful Reclaimer0
