lozzyfluff wrote:Online banking with Lloyds is great as you can search your statements as far back as 2002 and by transaction type. In under 20 minutes I could see that in 5 years, I had been charged a staggering £2800 including interest!
You can't claim for interest for going overdrawn
My question is this : I understand the priciple and wisdom of opening a parachute account, and Nationwide have already approved a current account, following a small dispute with Lloyds late last year. I don't have an overdraft, but I do have a re-financed loan with approx £7000 still outstanding with Lloyds.
Your loan is a different agreement and provided the payments are kept up to date it shouldn't be affected.
If I try to claim back my charges, and they close my bank account, are they likely to foreclose the loan as well? This I cannot afford!
Any advice gratefully received!
Thanks
LF.
Lloyds don't seem to be closing accounts.0 -

Or are all bank interest charges legal and therefore exempt from this claiming process??
thanks for any help.

All bank charges are legal its just the amount of the penalty charges are deemed unlawful. You can't claim for interest on your overdraft.0 -
Hi, just a quick question, I have asked this before, but getting a bit worried now. I am on the mcol stage of my claim, I filed on the 18th Feb, but still not heard anything from them or the bank. Do I have to contact mcol or nat west. I also lost my handbag last week (not a good 2007 up to now), with my log in id etc to enter the mcol site, now I cant even get into that. Can anyone give me some advice please?

Give MCOL a ring, the number is on their website. They should be able to help you with your user id.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Taffyfella wrote:Chajun, are you finding this difficult to comprehend? Why are you on this web site in the first place??? Surely your here to save money due to endless goverment costs and general cost of living. When banks screw you over as the cost of sending a letter is not proportionate to the actual cost, it makes you realise we all have a case. If you feel that strongly about it, don't claim...
I'm assuming you have charges otherwise you would not be on here.

Hi Edinburghlass
I know you're busy and well done for answering queries 24/7! Could I just ask a quick question? How do I go to the Lloyds thread/forum?
Chantal (chomps13)0 -
is it only charges i can try to claim back? ie. it must say 'charges' in the statement details column.
because there seems to be a big interest fee applied everytime i get a 'charge' on my statement. and the interest is sometimes 22%!!! which means a fee of between £10-70 interest. is this legal? can i also try to claim these? or not?0
