  • You should in fact list them (with dates and descriptions) as this will form part of your defence should it become necessary and the bank will check them, quite likely before making an offer.

So yes I would do that now and make sure you keep a couple of copies.

thought as much, will do that now so that when it comes to the second letter it will be more detailed ( more than likley they will send me a letter to explain how i came to this figure even though they are right there on my statements even they have access to )

    many thx

    Bank: Lloyds TSB
    Amount Reclaimed: £510, plus interest
    Amount they paid:£510

    The Story:

Sent first letter, got generic reply about fair charges laid out in T&C's.

Sent second letter threatening court action, got no reply so filed with Money Claim Online

Lloyds were required to acknowledge by 28th or default win to me, got a letter today dated 19th February saying they will replay the £510, plus waive £60 of costs due on March 1st. The usual stoey about them not admitting liability, but the charges were less that costs they would incur fighting in court.

Now I just have to have a word about my Court Costs!

    Thanks Martin and MSE!!!!!
  • Hi,
We are just starting out the process of claiming back our fees but have a couple of questions.

What is Clydesdale Banks data protection address?
Do we make the £10 cheque out to "Clydesdale Bank"?

    Thanks

A few years ago we incurred hundred of pounds in bank charges from nationwide when OH's salary went in a day late on a couple of occasions and about 20 odd cheques hit the day before at around £25 a cheque!(we were living very close to the wire in those days). Went in to branch, but they refused to refund, as they had refunded a charge at some point in the past. I paid them when this happended the first time, but on the second occasion decided this wasn't possible and offered them half as full and final settlement. They accepted, so now I presume this offer I made will preclude me from going back to reclaim any of the others?
    Thanks for any advice
