Hi guys.
I recently filed a claim online agains Lloyds TSB, using the letters provided by the BBC News (Moneybox) website, and followed all their instructions, as well as advice on this website, to the letter. Have checked the claim online today (22.02.2007) and it sems they have filed a defence against my claim. I am claiming £745.00 including costs, and have all the dates from my bank statements that I attained online.
Basically if someone would be kind enough to give me an indication of what happens next, in terms of procedure, cost, etc. what I should expect, tips and tricks, etc I would be absolutely massively oblidged to them. I basically just want to know what my chances are of winning this one! Thankyou very much fo your time, Sam.0 -
iglimpse wrote::mad: I am helping my sister to reclaim charges from Abbey (back to 2002). I applied using the template letter but what I got back was useless. Lists and lists of spends but no info on the charges incurred, or the balances. I don't want to let that deter me... Is this their usual ploy?
We have already opened a new account, so that one is dormant for now:cool:
Clearly I need to write back and reiterate that it is the charges info I want, unless you can suggest anything else0 -

You'll get an Allocation Questionnaire to fill in and you'll find the guide to that in the Reclaim Help Thread linked to in my signature. Look for the thread pertaining to your bank and you'll find other users there who have claimed or are still in the midst of claiming.0 -

Send off your name/previous name, address and date of birth along with the £10 cheque for all your information/statements and the bank should be able to trace your account.0 -
Are small businesses entitled to claim for unfair bank charges. My husband & I were in business together during 1990 - 2004, although now he is a sole trader I wondered if we were still able to claim the horrific bank charges put on us during 2000-2002 and before I start the search for bank statements etc I would like to now if we can still claim or is it only individuals that are able to reclaim. Sorry if this is in the wrong place but am new to this game !!0

Hello there. I am new to the forum. It is my husband who is claiming back from the banks. He has one claim with the Halifax, and one with the woolich.
My question is this. He is at the waiting for statements stage. (40 days up in about 10 days). He received a letter from the halifax this morning. It stated that his 6 yrs statements were enclosed. It also made him an offer of £1280. The problem is the statements were not enclosed.
He has phoned the contact name on the letter. They have apologised for the lack of statements. They say the total charges were in fact £1400. They feel the offer made is fair as it is over 90%. I agree that we would accept this offer if in fact the charges are only £1400. Could they lie on the phone to him like that. Is it possible they didn't enclose the bank statements as the charges are way more and they are trying to cover themselves. He did ask them to send the statements, and then he would make his decision. What should he do if he doesn't receive the statements???
Many Thanks in Advance

dave_badger wrote:Surprise, surprise I had a letter from the bank waiting for me when I got home yesterday spot on the 13th day although they claimed they received it on the 12th. After checking back on the letter I sent I have just realised I forgot to put the date on, can I send my LBA tomorrow now the 2 weeks I have specified is up or should I wait until 2 weeks from the 16th when they received it? I have proof of delivery that they received it on the 8th. Where do I stand?

First Direct
Orignally claim £910.74
offer - 576
They sent me statements and now recieved letter today stating that they wont refund recall fees of £75 included and they say i duplicated one amount of £25 (which i didnt - they just charged me twice that day) and they are taking off £52 previous refund fees bring it down to 758.74
With an offer of 576 this seems a bit rubbish. dont know what to do now. i have an overdraft of 600 and am worried they will close my account down0 -
NATWEST
CLAIMED £2400
OFFERED £1800
I have gone through Martins step by step guide as i am trying to reclaim £2400 back from Natwest plus £120 court costs. I received an offer from them offering me £1800 and to be honest i would of accepted this , but it came the day before they were served with the court papers and as it was a saturday i couldnt cancel it so i thought why not go all the way?
i am now at the stage where the have aknowledged the claim and have now a further 14 days to form a defence. I will admit i am getting a bit worried now and wondering whether i should give them a call or should i just stick it out? I think from reading the offer i have 8 weeks to reply or i may of read that wrong? I see lots of people have had lots of offers but i have only had the one!
Could do with some advice from people who have been in this waiting game.0
