Hi I have an current account with Halifax my mortage and a homeowners load will i need to close these services and open another account with another bank to re-claim my bank charges? I know it it best to open another current account when claiming my bank charges as the bank can close it through bitterness.. but what about my other services? And how long does this process take?
Thanks for any information VISA-DIVA0 -
Your mortgage and loan will be different agreements and shouldn't be affected.
How long is a piece of string, no answer to that one I'm afraid.0 -

I have filed my claim at MCOL and its at the start of the judgment. Bit late in the day maybe but realise i have gone about 4 days over the 6 years!! Do you think this is a major problem?0 -
I wrote to the RBS to reclaim £7000+. Just had £5860 deposited in my bank account. Decided to accept their offer, thanks Martin every thing you said about their response to my letters was spot on.0

Bank: Smile (current account)
Amount Claimed: £0!!!!
Amount Paid: £1366
Story: Sent secure message asking for refund of charge for incorrectly taken direct debit, also asked for copies of all statements, next thing I know I check the account today, credit of £1366!! Got home to letter stating they have reviewed account and refunded all charges from Dec 2002 to Jan 2007!! Didn't even have to follow procedure as laid out here, ie template letter, threaten court action etc!! Still going to review statements (when I get them!) to make sure they have actually paid everything. Haven't even been asked to sign anything about further bank charges, they just said if they don't receive a reply within 8 weeks they will assume complaint resolved. I would say to anyone: go for it!!! Let's get one over on the banks!!
