Hi can anybody help?
My account with RBS was a Royalties Gold Account wereby I had to pay £10 charge per month to have, which I agreed to. The account included benefits e.g. free travel insurance which I did use.
Do I claim this £10 charge back?
Do I claim all the interest I have been charged?0 -
Following success with HBOS I now want to move on to the credit card companies who have fleeced me with their exorbitant charges. Do I use the same letters and procedures as for the banks or could somebody please redirect me to a thread that might help?
Everso grateful as everLou0 -

No and no, have a read of post 4 in this thread for what you can claim.

Use the same letters just change the wording to say you are claiming for late payment fees and/or over limit fees.
As the OFT suggested the late payment fees should be reduced to £12 and most of the main cards are now following this, the cc company are likely to offer you the difference between the two amounts. Up to you if you persue for the full amount if they give you such an offer.0 -

Bank: Mint Credit Card
This is my second success - again on behalf of my son.
When I was posting the news about our Halifax refund I noticed that someone had posted about their credit card. Flushed with my success I immediately wrote to Mint using the standard template. We received a reply saying the matter was being looked into and today my son received the standard 'goodwill' letter saying they would pay in full. It took 2 weeks start to finish. Keep up the good work. I'm now desperately thinking who else I can go after!!0 -

Bank: HSBC
Amount Claimed: £1072.50
Amount Offered: £915.00
Sent letter requesting repayment on the 18th January. received letter on the
25th January asking me to contact Colin Langdale in Leeds. Received offer in
the post opn the 14th February which I have accepted.
Anyone dealing with HSBC plc for copy statements should write to:
Harry Weston Road, Binley, Coventry, CV3 2TQ. Then to request repayment
write to: Service Quality Team, Arlington Business Centre, Millshaw park Lane, Leeds, LS11 0PP.
The letter gave the usual speel - If your claim for a refund proceeded to Court, we therefore believe that we would successfully resist any legal challenge. We are, however, mindful of the management time and irrecoverable legal costs that we may incur. For those commercial reasons alone, and without any admiision of liability whatosever.........
Thank you Martin0 -
I would phone them tomorrow and find out what is happening to your claim. It could be weeks before you would get a court date.0

Has anyone been charged the various Payment Protection/Card Protection charges which credit card companies impose almost as a stealth charge ?
I have requested repayment of such charges from various credit card companies, as being self-employed such protection would have been useless to me. I have had a few replies informing me that they are looking into my complaint. These charges were imposed without my consent.
I will keep the site informed on progress on this topic.0
