Wise to give the bank a few more days to reply rather than rush to court proceedings or give them a phone call.

If you are going to court you need to have read of this website.

Nice one. I have also contacted my local paper and they have already published a piece on this and are following the court case. I know this sounds vindictive, but i hope mine goes to the wire and i have to issue bailiffs! Probably my luck will be settle at the last minute.

From Barclays:

Claimed: £1030
Refunded:£560

They first gave me all the Jargon about them being within the law and terms & conditions were explained to me on opening the account, then they said they would without admitting liability refund £560.00 without any further action, although most of you would probably have stuck it out and fight for the full amount, I was happy with this, as I didn't want to end up with nothing!!

Received a letter from Halifax yesterday offering £1180.00, with a telephone number to call if I wasn't happy.
5 minute phone call later, (I wasn't happy) and I was offered £1684 (mentioned moneysavingexpert.com once or twice!!). Now I'm happy.

Quite a few of my work collegues have been waiting to find out what my outcome was going to be. Have let them all know and a flurry of letters requesting a list of bank charges have now gone off!

This wont work in the USA. The laws are different.
