I'm taking the cash. I can't believe this has happend. 2 letters, 6 weeks and I have an offer. I'll send the paperwork back today and wait for my cash.:j

I was so nervous about doing this and I would just like to thank Martin, Rex Mundi, Edinburghlass and everyone else for their help and guidance. :A :T

With the help of this site i'm getting more savvy with my purchasing and how I handle my money. It's a whole new way of life for me. I also go C-op bank to give me £15 cos they messed something up. 8 weeks ago I wouldn't have had the confidence to ask.

Thanks folks. I'm off to Dublin at the end of April thanks to the First Direct. I'll certainly be raising a glass of the black stuff to Martin and everyone

  • Hi,
Have just (Last Sat) sent out seven letters asking for my bank charge details to several banks/cards and have had a phone message already from one of them. I haven't banked with them since 2004 so it must be regarding my letter.
Should I ring them back as requested, or not? And if so, what should I say (or NOT say)?
  • Ask them for the information you asked for in your letter.
  • Started only with letters in January but just got back in and two letters tback from HSBC offering £561.

    A/C 1 asked for £555.00 offered £475.00 I'm gonna take this
    A/C 2 asked for £86.00 got £86.00

I'm small fry compared to others on here, but heck, 'Every little helps'. ;)

This little lot will help me update my 12 year old naff kitchen. Along with my clubcard deals from MFI. That's what I call a moneysaving kitchen.:money: Thanks Martin thanks MSEs :T :T

  • Can charges be reclaimed on Business Accounts as well as personal a/cs ???

 I am helping my sister to reclaim charges from Abbey (back to 2002). I applied using the template letter but what I got back was useless. Lists and lists of spends but no info on the charges incurred, or the balances. I don't want to let that deter me... Is this their usual ploy?

We have already opened a new account, so that one is dormant for now:cool:

Clearly I need to write back and reiterate that it is the charges info I want, unless you can suggest anything else:confused:
you have to ask for 6yrs of statements plus you pay a small fee for this i think is about a tenner then you sit down and count all the charges they have taken of you you will need to sit down when you see what they have taken in my case i have been oftered £851 from the Halifax but i,m not going to settle for that when they owe me £1.400 so my court date with them is 26th march so i will keep this site updated thats how you get to find out what your owed!!!!! so good luck i Have contected my local paper about this and they will be coming to court with me if it goes that far
  • If you ask for copy statement you will be charged more than £10 for them as they are entitled to charge per statement, however you can go back to them and ask for the information in the form of statements.
