  • Bank: Alliance & Leicester
    Amount Claimed: £1300
    Amount Received: £1300

Request for disclosure took up to the last permitted day. First letter resulted in brief reply dismissing any entitlement. Second letter threatening court resulted in an identically worded letter. Issued claim for full amount and charges using Moneyclaim. Reply received 7 days after issuing with payment of full amount. The letter suggested that account would be closed, but I did this first!

  • Hi All i'm a newbie!!

My brother has had an overdraft with Natwest for the last 3 years (he hasn't disclosed the amount yet) but he has been paying £30 a month charges for the last 3 years. By the time he has had his wages paid into his account, paid off bills etc, the bank then take their £30 charge, he is left with no money in his account to even pay anything off his overdraft and then he is left in the same vicious cycle the following month etc...

Does anybody think he'd stand a chance of reclaiming back any of the charges?

  • charge statement - £10 per account?

Hi, I have read the article but am not clear on one thing before getting started with the process...

we are about to send the letters to the Halifax asking for the last six years of statements... the only thing is we both have individual accounts with them as well as a joint account... do we have to send three letters with cheques for £10 ( one for each account) or would one letter quoting the three account details do the job...?

sorry if this has been posted already - a bit nervous about starting the process but completely fed up with Halifax charges (charged £30 a few months ago for being about 30p overdrawn for 30 min!! -

Any advice re the letters would be appreciated!

    Thanks

    D
  • One cheque for £10 should do if you include both names, account numbers etc in your letter. However, when it comes to doing a claim best to do them separately rather than a joint claim.
  • I was asking for details of two Barclays accounts and treated each one separately with a separate letter and £10 cheque. They sent back the cheques and said they did not charge for this service (back issue statements)
