    Hi all

Bet not many have claimed off this lot!!!

When I was naughty with money used to cash cheques with The Money Shop.

I bounced three cheques with them and got charged £25 for each one. So, flushed with my NatWest claim success, I thought I'd write and try and claim the 75 quid back too!!

Five days after my letter got a phone call offering it back as a gesture of goodwill (of course!).

Just goes to show Martin's method can be applied to a multitude of financial organisations with equally successful results :-)

    Nationwide and Barclaycard are next!!

    Regards & good luck everone,

My son's RBS current account started by going £1 overdrawn + £30 for going overdrawn and rose exponetionally until it reached £300 +, when I put a block on it. Received £350

  • Bank: Co-op Bank
    Amount Reclaimed: £956 (inc. interest)
    Amount they paid: £600.

Took a while this, first letter in Nov. Waited as long as they could between letters, did get a few "looking into your complaint" messages, however.

After sending breakdown and claim details in, they finally made an offer - money went straight in account at same time. Needed cash so accepted.

Was quite straightforward, got to online claim stage - they said they were defending the claim but paid up before court date - as they all do.

    Halifax
    Claimed £234
    Paid £234

Just took one letter as it was a small amount they paid straight away.

Others to come when i buy a new printer for the letters!!

  • Lloyds TSB
    Claimed £280
    Paid £280

Sent 2 letters and was about to complete the Moneyclaim stuff when I got an Ex Gratia payment into my account and a letter the following day saying that it would cost them too much to go to court so I could have my money back!

My advice would be to wait a little longer than the 7 days stipulated in the 2nd letter before completing the Moneyclaim paperwork as they paid up about 3 weeks after my deadline. You could save yourself some time and hassle - but I get it depends how much you are claiming?

Good Luck everyone and thank you Martin and Consumer Action Group for all your advice.

    Hi,
I was due to file with the courts on 16 Feb, but have received a phone call this morning. My claim was for just over £7500, they offered me £5500 over the phone so I asked them to meet me in the middle at £6500 and they agreed. I cannot believe that I have won this much money for the sake of writing a few letters. Thanks for everyone on here, I would not have even dared start this without you all.
