Reclaimed Bank Charges SUCCESS stories

Bank: Lloyds (as was in 1994)
Amount Reclaimed: GBP 5,804 (approx. 2,900 + interest)
Amount they paid: GBP 5,800
The story: had business a/c, personal a/c AND mortgage with Lloyds (too many eggs in 1 basket syndrome!) - accounts therefore see-sawed quite often in red/black. Too many times we were charged £20 for going over by 5 quid. We challenged bank over charges PLUS my own calculation of mis-/over-charged interest rates - they refused to provide info (pre Data Prot. Act '98) so worked it out myself. Gave them 28 days to respond to my claim as above. They coughed up nearly all but told us they'd close our account. We were nearly account-less but quickly gained another account. So, listen to the advice here and have another a/c in place before you kick off at your current bank - just in case!

i sent the first letter to h.s.b.c claiming 919.00 and 1 week later got an offer of 780.00 so settled it there . i am over the moon about it .
