Rex_Mundi wrote:If you claim online. Put your figures in the calculator just before you claim, and put these figures for your charges+interest. You will also claim for 'interest at a daily rate of'.........for this, you multiply the amount of your charges (with no interest added) by .00022. This will be the daily amount the claim will increase by if you end up in front of a judge.
Chances are the bank will settle before you see a judge, and you will be paid charges+interest you stated on the court claim+court fee. You don't get the daily rate added in this case.Halifax WON! Claimed £1549 on 8th Jan 2007, Settled for £1350 on 29th Jan, Paid 7th Feb.
MBNA (Virgin / Alliance Credit Card charges): WON! Claimed £419 on 17 March, finally offered £425! on 5 June)
Natwest Credit Card: WON! Claimed £250, got 100% + interest + court costs too.
Northern Rock: Mortgage Discharge Fee: WON! Claimed £100. Offered £90 and accepted it.
Natwest Bank / RBS: WON! Claimed £400. Got 100% + interest + court fees back.

BANK : HSBC
CLAIMED : £2,390
OFFERED : £1,890
I sent my first letter off on the 5th January and received the manditory letter from Colin Langdale on the 17th January, stating they were looking into the case.
Today i received an offer of £1,890. I considered going for the whole hog, however i'm happy to accept this amount.
Can't believe how easy this was. Thank you Martin for inspiring me to take on the big boys, this will go some way to help pay for my wedding!!!!!!0 -
hi all, im new here, so take it easy!!
i have started the process of trying to reclaim from lloyds, im just about to send my second letter off detailing the charges, but im a little confused as to where to send it, does it go back to the data protection addresss, the one on top of the letter they sent back to me with my charges attached (copy statement unit, accounts services....), or a different one altogether??
any help would be greatly appreciated!!0 -
I have just got home and found an offer from HSBC waitnig on my doorstep woo hoo!!
However, i was in a branch today and in a nutshell my borrowng ability with them has suddenly dissappeared. I know for a fact that i was 'pre-approved' for loans of up to £10K before Christmas, as well as overdrafts, flexi loans etc. Today my borrowing ability with them was £nil for everything. The customer advisor i spoke to said she hadn't seen this scenario before and that she couldn't understand it, having checked my HSBC customer/credit profile.
Is this because i am currently in dispute with them or is it the fact that now i've claimed off them, they don't want to know me?
Has anyone else experienced banking difficulties post a successful claim?0 -

Bank: Abbey
Total Claimed: £100
Total Received: £100
I sent the first letter off on 4th December 06 and then sent the second letter on 15th January 07. On Saturday 20th January I received two letters in separate envelopes, one telling me that they'd received my letter and were investigating and the second letter telling me they were refunding the full amount as a 'gesture of goodwill'.
I closed my account prior to claiming as I have been unhappy with the Abbey for a long time.
I know it was only a small amount, but I am really pleased and impressed how easy the process was and I encourage anybody to go ahead and claim.
Thanks also to Martin and all the posters on this site which is a god send.0 -
