I have went through the process of checking my past 6 years statements and sent a letter off to my bank they responded and said they were not unlawfull. I then went to moneycalim online and started the ball rolling They were served with the notice and now intend to defend the whole claim and it was moved to my local court ??? that now expires on the 27th of Jan ... I will have to pay another £100 to proceed. What happens next ? Could I be the first to goto court ???0

If the bank don't pay up. Don't write to them, apply to the court for a 'warrant of execution', then you can send the bailiffs in to collect the money. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Glad to hear a bank get a CCJ... Maybe they have to apply to the Credit Reference Agencies and enclose their £2 fee so they can amend like we have to...
Sell them Shares you all have in them Banks... It will soon be the shareholders claiming bank charges for bad debts at this rate....

Bank: Co-operative
Amount claimed:£35
Amount repaid: £35 (as a "goodwill gesture")
They paid after the first letter. I have a claim in for £383 with Halifax, so I'll keep you posted on that.0 -
Bank: Barclays
Amount Reclaimed: £ 1008.26
Amount they paid: £ 1128.26 (includes court fees)
The story:
Followed the process on the site to the letter. Claimed full amount plus interest and got an offer of £355.00 - refused it and threatened court. They repeated the offer so went to court. No response so requested judgement. Still no response, so called Customer Services and they passed it on to legal. A week later I got an offer of full payment in return for calling the court off.
The money hit my account today and has been bounced straight in to my umbrella account.
It is possible - it does work and I'm £1000 closer to being debt free. Yay!Bitstreams0 -
amount claimd: £124.00
amount paid: £124.00
Natwest
i would like to say i am very glad i found this website. it took persistence but i got all the charges debited to my account refunded.
i phoned natwest about the charges and they refused to refund. i wrote to them about the charges before i found this website and they refused to refund.
after finding this website i then followed each step in the guide. after the first letter demanding a response in 14 days from them they wrote to say they would not refund the charges as they thought the charges were fair.
after they received the letter satating 7 days or i will issue. they wrote back after 14 days had passed and said i should bare with them as they were "investigating" my case but by this time i had already issued after 7 days was up as i was not going to wait on their time frame. received letter last week to say they would pay up. they did today. great stuff, THANKS.0 -
Not very good at this right now, so hope i am doing it correctly. Just wanted to say a big Thank you to Martin, After reading the part on reclaim bank charges, we had just be charged, so we phoned them up and they agreed not to charge us this time round.
A saving of £35.00. Brilliant! That can now go towards another bill. Thank you again!!0
