Somehow I have managed to lose some of my statements that Barclays sent me. When they first sent me them I calculated they owed me £405 and sent them the proof of this and copied them for myself. Now I can only find proof of £280. They have offered me £200 and even after sending them the letter asking for the full £405 or I will take them to court they are still saying £200 is all I'm getting. Now I've said I'm taking them to court will they send me the statements again if I ask for them again or should I just take the £200 they are offering? I really dont know how I have managed to lose some when they were all together.
Bye right they have to send you your statements if you want them because they may be hiding something you are not ment to see

    Getting exciting...

Have received a reply today from Bank of Scotland to my 2nd letter saying it will take 4 weeks to respond to my query. Having read the thread it appears I should just go to court tomorrow (7 days is up then).

My claim is for £4650 plus interest which takes me over the small claims limit. Should I write and offer early settlement without interest letter or just go straight to court? In which case is it less risky to drop the interest and go through Moneyclaim or wade through a High Court claim for the interest as well?

I have also incurred charges over the last two weeks of about £100 - can i/should i add these to my court claim?

Thanks as always for everyone's invaluable advice and support.

If you want my opinion about adding the £100 that they have charged to your court claim well I would say yes but that is my opinion but I am not so sure what others will think.

Sent letter to Halifax giving them 14 days on 28th December to my local branch, received reply on 31st Dec, saying that they had sent my claim to head office.

So do i post the 7 days before court action to head office or local branch today? or await reply?

  • Can anyone help.
I have just claimed back £1161 from HSBC and i am trying to do the same thing for my boyf. When I looked at his statements he has loads of charges and he also has £12.95 account fee and £25.oo overdraft fee. These charges appear quite often in his statements so can I claim these charges back aswell:confused:
  • first direct said they would pay £170 but not the interest of £10. I accepted. Barclays have refused any obligation to repay as I agreed to charges when I opened the account. Awaiting reply to my response. Thanks everyone for all the input into this.

    The story:
It was a relatively small amount (lots to me though!) incurred when I was at college, so I simply wrote to ask for the charges back, and within three days, it was in my account. Thanks to everyone who works so hard to make these things happen.
    Overpay!

    Hi,

Can anyone tell me if I can reclaim credit card charges on missed payments and going over the credit limit charges? Or is it just the late payment charge that I can reclaim?
    Yes you can.

I have got back £300 from Capital One and i am currently awaiting a court decision on the 7/2/07 fro £475 against Barclaycard. i Also got back £1785 from halifax.

There is slightly different template letters for CC companys, but they are all on this site or the CAG site.
  • Hi, I am in the process of completing an Allocation Questionnaire. Does anybody have any specfic wording for Section G as I'm stuck! I've had a look at Rex's very helpful section but I need to get this completed by the beginning of next week.
