I've always been all for cashback deals, had a few years with carphone warehouse on cashback offers with no problem. This year I'm with e2save (i know they're under the same umbrella) and the problems have started - change of cashback redemptions address, no cheque yet dispite being sent a 'claim received' text, half an hour on hold to the helpline, cs rep not sure whether my next claim bill should be Dec or Jan...

On checking that the text had been sent to me, he said my cheque was being raised. I shan't be holding my breath.

Most annoying thing is, I live less than a mile from their Loughborough office.

After this experience, I'm going over to the darkside - lets get rid of cashback.

I have used this geographical number found on saynoto0870 in most of my dealings with e2saveup until oct 07 and found it went pretty much straight through to the chequeback people with no stupid menus

    01270 504440

The email addresses of the staff I spoke to were onestopphoneshop, the letters were from CPW, all done to confuse no doubt

People won;t get through so easilly if at all now you've posted it on here; I would keep something like that to myslef and delete unless you want to help a few people now and close the door completely soon after. There is now a huge price to pay for being TOO altruistic!

Anyone going over the the dark side will become my enemy; I prefer the CHOICE as to whether I play games with cpw or not. Choice gives more personal responsibility and risk; take those away and you are simply at the mercy of whatever bones are thrown to you. I'm still doing fine with all my deals don't mind suing if they misbehave. Anyone not putting the legwork in should never do a cashback deal anyway - especially now. However, those of us who really do shouldn't be penalised for those people who can't be bothered or are prepared to go in blind.

All 12 months free gone now. Blame the Crusade to ban cashback deals to protect the foolhardy; they are STILL trying to drum up more signatures. Sad days!

    You're right.
Wow. I only looked a week ago.

  • I have rung 5 times since my 2nd instalment was due in October 07 and was told it will be dealt with so I went to their offices at Dockfield Road Shipley today only to find out that they moved out in June 2007 with no forwarding address. I rang them to check the address and they confirmed that it is dockfield road shipley. I asked to speak to a director but he was busy I told them that they were lying about the address and they hung up on me

Try putting that on the RIGHT thread - if you know who's who to start with, of course! The Mobile Outlet has zilch to do with E2Save; their bad enough nowadays without making them even worse by associating them with your company.
  • I’m thinking that:
On a 12 month contract you get 12 bills – so if you’re claiming in 5 installments it has to be (working backwards) the 12th, 10th, 8th, 6th and 4th bills that need sending. There wont be a 13th bill as the contract will have ended (been cancelled).
Therefore it has to be the 4th bill that you send first. (Not the 5th)
    Wot u reckon?

I reckon you should see the wood for the trees. Bill numbers are utterly irrelevant and any reference to them is a red herring! Follow your approach and you're almost certain to be told that you've lost all your cashback right from your first claim (even though in your example you could force them to reverse the decision and submit the correct claims at the correct time thereafter - provided they declined the first claim in time)!

I read, re-read, and re-re-read the T&Cs, and sent of a printed copy of my December online bill (having first double-checked that this was ok), 120 days after my 16th August connection. I was a bit concerned that the bill did not show my address, but I was re-assured that this was ok. I was delighted that my first £80 cashback cheque arrived yesterday, without any chasing phone calls or threats of legal action.
    C'mon you Canaries!!
  • This message is in follow up to a thread by artha on 4th Jan.

    I am on an identical deal. e2save price-match. 12months contract. 12 months free. o2 £45 per month

My contract started 9th September 2007.

The legal t&c of price-match deals states: "send us the claim form and original monthly bill showing name,address....., that arrives showing you have been connected for 4 months i.e. if you were connected on 1st of January, you need to send in the bill dated around the 1st May. This is 120days (4 months) after connection."

As everyone says, these t&c are very vague. The fact is the this sentence in the t&c is stating that you must send in a bill that is dated AT LEAST 4 MONTHS after the start of your contract.

    I called e2save.
They said that 4 months after connection (9th September) was 6th January for me.
My bills are dated 21st of each month.

e2save told me that I can send in EITHER
    1. the bill dated 21st December 2007, but send this bill AFTER 6th January, but it must reach them no more than 28 days after 21st December 2007.
    2. the bill dated 21st January 2008 but to ensure that it reaches them before the end of my cashback claim period, which is 7th February according to the https://www.mycashbackclaim.co.uk, but it is 3rd February by my calculations.

    My CONCLUSION:

I am sending the bill dated 21st January 2008 as soon as I get it, to ensure it reachs them before 3rd February 2008.

If the shi* hits the fan, I can rely on the written legal t&c in court because the invoice dated 21st Jan 2008 is more than 4 months AFTER connection, and I will have proof of recorded delivery that would arrive before 3rd February 2008

I hope this helps other people. If anybody thinks I am wrong about this please let make a post here.

Just to add, I have been with e2save for 2 years now. Last year the cashback claim process was much simpler and I got all the money back no problem. This year it has all changed - more hassle and more complex.

    Further info:

I contacted e2save by phone and spoke to kelly(4617) who confirmed that my window was 14th jan- 13th Feb despite my protestation that my original T&Cs stated that the 30 day window was from the date of the relevant airtime bill (~28th Jan). She also confirmed that for O2 an online bill was acceptable. When I suggested that my new window was now actually 28th Jan - 13th Feb and a bit tight she suggested that I could send my December bill after the 14th Jan to arrive not later than 28 days after 28th December. This appears to contradict the T&C, which I pointed out, but she assured me that it would not be rejected. Anyone had this experience?
