I have just realised that DS (who is now not D) signed up for online billing, thereby negating the production of an original bill. By my reckoning, I was due to send the bill dated 20 December after 3 January. Is there anything I can do, or has my son cost me £400?

You could hope they will accept the on-line bill; they have told some they do but generally they refuse. Other than that they have broken the industry code and possibly the unfair contract terms legislation; whether that would be enough in court is debatable.

The BEST option is to change to paper billing immediately and get the January one to them by 2rd February or ealier.

They have almost certainly broken the legal t&c so if the January bill arrives within one month of its date you should be able to sue for the whole cashback should they refuse to pay.

That is, naturally, assuming this is a so-called Price match deal (as it will be if from June onwards).

Apologies; I misread which bill she intends to send. I have re-written that and will clarify again here. Whilst it would be correct, by the time she receives it she will only have about a week to get it to them before they (incorrectly) close the claim window. She could send the December bill to arrive after 14th January. That's fine, except that it is against the legal t&c (but fulfills the ones they are actually following) AND if it gets there after 25th January it will be too old to be accepted, regardless of their "claim window".

    thanks mobilejunkie.

The window qouted seems a bit unfair to me as the original T&C I printed said the 30 days was from the date of the bill and not from the 120 days mark. Is this a common experience of changing T&Cs?

The other thing I have picked up from subsequent posts is the question of printed online bills vs posted bills. I've never had a problem before with "normal" cashback deals but is it a problem with e2save pricematch cashback?

You should never take out one of these contracts unless you follow all the groundrules. Among other things, that requires reading, copying, saving and understanding the legal t&c at the time you take the offer out. This is now extremely complicated and clouded by changes at cpw and its subsidiaries as well as by the competitor whose t&c these actually were when cpw plaguerised them.

It's impossible to help everyone when each individual's case is different and when they have neglexted some of the bsaics; at least you have a grasp and have identified the actual main points. I trust you also printed them out at the time.

This thread may help with this and other matters:-

It is a price-match deal, and I almost had kittens when I realised what my son had done.

Actually, I telephoned 02 and spoke to a very helpful lady who telephone e2save on my behalf. After holding on for about 15 minutes, she suggested that she call me back.

Basically, she has been advised by e2save that they will now accept on-line bills on the the price-match deals. E2save also advised the 02 CS what my claim period was (which was I thought it was). I was also advised that the E2save CS had left notes on PIE, to support this, which is visible by both E2save and 02. Let's see what happens.

I will be sending the documentation by Special Delivery tomorrow and then waiting with baited breath.

I would have asked for an email confirmation. At least you have made a note too of their name and the time/date of the call? Sounds like you'll be ok. However, if anything untoward ever happens I always try to make sure I'm covered. I am anticipating another (unusual) problem with them on one of mine in about 4-5 months and am prepared to sue rather than change my plan, since I have taken the necessary precautions. Nowadays 1) Their promises are highly unreliable and often meaningless. 2) Their dates and instructiions on the website, in their emails, on the phone and with the phone are usually contradictopry and basically incorrect. 3) They keep changing the way they do things and don't care a jot for anything they did or said previously. The name of the game now is to treat them with disdain and cover yourself for any eventuality which you can cover. 90% of the time they will still be ok - but watch out with the other 10%.

Purchased a OneStopPhoneShop handset and contract 12m Orange ALL PAPERWORK is e2SAVE

What should I do they have sent me a SIM and phone (both unopened) but all the paperwork, invoices, vouchers and terms are e2SAVE

I was going to call OSPS customer services to find out what to do. This happened to be a few years ago but only the vouchers were wrong. This time every item, even the welcome pack envelope says E2SAVE

I know that e2SAVE have taken over the OSPS operations and both are part of CPW.

Anyone had anything similar happen to them?

    Advice welcome.

Do not want to return the SIM or phone as all the 12month free deals disappeared this morning! Glad I managed to get 2 handsets

  • Hi

I got a situation here. I ordered a phone with price match deal from E2save on 25thSep07 and then I got the phone on 27thSep07 but the phone and welcome pack (included cashback voucher) are from onestopphoneshop not E2save. Then I tried to call them so many time and finally I managed to reach them. I asked why I got the phone from OSPS instead of E2S and where should I claim my cashback. That person who talked to me said I need to send the cashback voucher and relevant bill to E2S (eventhough I got OSPS cashback voucher) and my 1st claim should be in December(4th bill). So I think it's time to claim for me now.
However my friend (who ordered the phone on the same day as me) just told me that I should not send my 4th bill for my 1st claim, it should be 5th bill and send to them on Jan. So confuse here...he said he check on the website www.mycashbackclaim.co.uk. I looked in that website and logged on to my account but it appeared that no info about my cashback claim. I email them to ask but they said I need to call customer service. I called there like more than 10 times and each time I waited more than 15 mins and never reached them.
I'm panic now..I would be really appreciate if there is anyone could suggest or tell me what I should do. Basically I need to know that which bill , where and when should I send to claim my cashbask to? Any idea?

    Thank you in anticipation

P.S please excuse my poor english and pls help

They are now one and the same company. I think other than the OSPS website name everything else is now e2save. I wouldn't worry about it (well no more than you already should be considering you are dealing with CPW....)
