Thanks, I needed 2 new phones to replace 2 coming to the end of a 12 month contract also from OSPS. I've had phones from them for 4 years now and not (yet) missed a cashback with 12 contracts.
I know that the cashback scene is changing and the new rules are very different.
But I need the phones for work / home and so the choice is a cashback deal or no cashback. So even if I mess up the cashback I thought it is no worse than a non cashback deal.
I need to get another contract by the end of Jan 08 for another 12 month contract any advice or recommendations for a 1 hour per month talk plan with 50 texts would be fine. Ideally I want a low effective monthly cost.Seth.0 -

Never take out a cashback deal unless you know exactly what you're doing and put the (substantial) research time in beforehand to find out (AND thereafter to keep up to date). There are loads OF other threads on here about E2Save and OSPS and I suggest you spend a few hours seeking them out and studying them carefully. You can't claim until on/after 27th January approximately. Which bill depends on your billing dates and which set of t&c you decide to follow.0 -

thanks mobilejunkie.
The window qouted seems a bit unfair to me as the original T&C I printed said the 30 days was from the date of the bill and not from the 120 days mark. Is this a common experience of changing T&Cs?
The other thing I have picked up from subsequent posts is the question of printed online bills vs posted bills. I've never had a problem before with "normal" cashback deals but is it a problem with e2save pricematch cashback?
Further info:
I contacted e2save by phone and spoke to kelly(4617) who confirmed that my window was 14th jan- 13th Feb despite my protestation that my original T&Cs stated that the 30 day window was from the date of the relevant airtime bill (~28th Jan). She also confirmed that for O2 an online bill was acceptable. When I suggested that my new window was now actually 28th Jan - 13th Feb and a bit tight she suggested that I could send my December bill after the 14th Jan to arrive not later than 28 days after 28th December. This appears to contradict the T&C, which I pointed out, but she assured me that it would not be rejected. Anyone had this experience?Awaiting a new sig0 -
Just thought I'd recount my experiences.
The auto chequeback wasn't Auto. Two long phone calls to sort.
Sent in the first bill recorded (I can never work out what they mean by the 6th bill coz you get one at the begin. So there is always a 6th month or 6th bill issue). Got an email saying it had been recieved. Then one saying it would be paid. Then a repeat of the being saying being paid one. Then nothing.
Two months later (I had sort of forgotten about 1st cheque tbh) I send in my 8th bill for the 2nd amount.
I then phoned about the 1st amount.
The number you are told is for cashback enquiries is hardly ever answered. Just rings and rings. Any other number you ring tells you they cannot deal with it. However note they can check your account. I was told I was getting the 2nd amount but not the 1st?!
Later when I got the proper number to answer they tell me I'm getting the 1st amount but the 2nd bill was the wrong one!!!
So I send in the following months bill.
I have now recieved 2 cheques.
So actually even with some errors on my part I have still so far had all the money.
Opinion:
- The system is vague (what bill sent when).
- Their dedicated phoneline for cashback claims is a p-take.
- They are incompetent rather than malicious (they did tell me they have merged departments so they may be better now than earlier).
- I still have a contract that apart from some long calls and wasted time and recorded letter fees is free.
- And by Quidco and eBayed the phone I made over £50 to get it.
In march my contract is up and I am stupid enough to go for another cashback offer (already have my eye on one).
I would stick to CPW or e2 save etc. as I had hassle but all the cash from these two but problems and less than the full amounts from the Mobile Outlet and Dial-a-Phone.Girls are gonna love the way I toss my hair. Boys are gonna hate the way I seem.

You are purely talking old t&c. Try the new ones at your peril IF you can catch a deal worth having anyway now!0

I have seen a 12 mth contract with 12mths cashback somewhere I there I think. Haven't seen the new T&C's.
Thanks for the heads up.Girls are gonna love the way I toss my hair. Boys are gonna hate the way I seem.

All 12 months free gone now. Blame the Crusade to ban cashback deals to protect the foolhardy; they are STILL trying to drum up more signatures. Sad days!0
