e2save problem (merged threads)

Not exactly! I detested the so-called "price-match" t&c originally because they were simply copied from a competitor without matching ANY of their deals (apart from one - nearly - which lasted about 2 days!). I am quite familiar with the t&c from the place they stole them from. However, people initially became fixated with them as if they were incredibly awesome - they aren't. The problem is that they aren't actually using them (though might in certain instances if it's to their advantage, methinks!).
No first claims have yet been made; they have have only been around for about four months. When people START making their first claims under these t&c, following them happily and carefully to the letter, many are likely to be told they have claimed too late and thus lose ALL their cashbacks. E2Save now are a law untoo themselves (seems to be catching!) and think they can do as they wish. Of course, anyone being declined when they have followed the legal t&c they actually signed up to (the ones you have printed out) can easily sue and get ALL their cashbacks in one hit. Almost worth manouvering yourself into that situation actually!
If you have one of these contracts, try logging into your account and checking your cashback section. you will find a totally irrelevant and incorrect list of actual dates within which you can supposedly make each claim. It bears zero correlation with the legal t&c OR the ones they will insist on over the phone (which are vaguely in line with the legal t&c BUT not the same. Point this out to them and they are either stupid or ignore the ones you signed up to - and that is why under the ones they are using many people will be too late with their claims. As I have said many times, you really have to understand the nuances and know precisely what you're doing now. In addition, the administration and processing of claims is in a complete mess for E2Save customers. They routinely tell you things haven;t arrived (until you give them the recorded delivery number/proof) and you have no idea what's happening (usually nothing) unless you ring them regularly on their 0845 number and wait for ages to get through. That is quite different from their past efficiency and reliavbility, when I stopped sending claims by recorded delivery a long time back. No chance of doing that now either. Few people understand or even know about all this - but the flack will commence pretty soon now, methinks! Good for us, bad for most methinks!0 -
The T&Cs I've printed out from the order page are word-for-word CNM. I wish CNM would sue them for copyright.
But anyway. I have logged in, and annoyingly, the claim dates shown are exactly the same as in the T&Cs.
My first claim date is 120 days after connection. I just have to hope they reject it so I can nail them through moneyclaim.0 -
Really? All the ones I've checked have been a month too soon. Perhaps they have corrected them recently. I suspect that the cash-back claim department may improve before too long. I am sure they are understaffed and getting all the flack over this (and more). In any case, I'll bet it isn't 120 days but a calendar anniversary. Further, that is NOT actually what the t&c actually say. As you're familiar with Mobile Affiliates you should realise a very important difference with regard to dates; IF they were actually follwing the t&c they couldn't specify ANY dates for a "claim window"!0

The problems have started. Someone has just had an early claim rejected because they believed the dates given to them in writing. THIS IS JUST THE START - E2Save is up next (en masse I expect).
MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND how THEY are working rather than what you've seen in writing in various places. You MUST comply with that AND the legal t&c you signed up to under the wonderfully named "price-match" t&c. AGAIN - I HAVE told people time and again to keep a copy of the t&c they sign up for AT THE TIME from WHATEVER source. Many still don't but that is essential in my book. Where this particular organisation chooses to do something rather different you then have them by the short and curlies if they try it on - as they are going to.0 -
I have just had a letter saying my cash back has been refused.
I took out a price match, 12 months free contract on 31/05/07. I was told to send my 4th bill, I sent bill number 4 by special delivery. I have today received a letter from 'onestopphoneshop' saying that my cashback claim was sent too early in one sentence and in the next sentence it says my claim was received after the allotted time frame.
As a result my cashback claim has been rejected and I'm ineligible to claim any more. They also say they are unable to enter into any further correspondence with regards to this purchase.
I’m very disappointed, I did the normal cash back last year without any problems.
My phone was from 'e2save' but the letter has come from 'onestopphoneshop'
Is there anything I can do ?0 -
You're going to be the first of hundreds with E2Save. Hate to say this, but... well, never mind!

I would add that in these two cases people haven't understood even the t&c they thought they'd signed up to - or they wouldn't have sent claims one month too soon. cpw documentation has always misled - just look at the 6 month free Virgin sim thread! The REAL problem is still to come; most people will get rejected because they have followed the relevant t&c they signed up to.
With regard to these kind of refusals (and I will admit not anticipating people either sending in a month early or being refused all future cashbacks as a result - it was not the particular refusal reason I was and still AM expecting!) the relevant part of the legal t&c you ACTUALLY signed up to is as follows:- "where a valid claim has not been received by us within one calendar month of the required bill, which is the closing date for your claim. You will not be entitled to any part of the Cash Back offered. Cash back files are closed and cannot be reopened in these cases". Since your first claim isn't yet due they can't possibly claim that it wasn't received within one calendar month and therefore have NO legal basis for refusing ANY of your claims at this stage. The part about "within one calendar month of the required bill" is the one I'm "looking forward" to! That is quite different to how they will be determing claims!
Once again - another warning to all; forget what E2Save were like or did before. They are quite different now! If you get one of these contracts you really MUST know how to negotiate the minefield they have put in place -and it's quite complicated! I'm quite confident I will get all my money and am still taking out contracts BUT you really, really have to know what you're doing!0 -
Hi.. I got my phone from OSPS in price match deal on 21st May. I am about send my first cashback voucher. In the terms, it says that the bill should be around 120 days after the connection date. I get my bills on 4th of every month. So should I wait for my 4th Oct bill to come or should I try the 4th Sep bill? If anybody have received any cashback under price match deals, PLEASE help me out.0
-
balusri, if your Sept. bill includes the payment for the 21st Sept. (ie 4 months from connection) that is the bill to send. It must NOT be more than 28 days old and you can't send it to them until 21/09 which is now ok for yourself.
That's how I've been told over the phone and that's how I will be claiming in a few weeks time.
Please post the period of your Sept bill, ie the start date and the end date.

so is the "connected for 120 days" being the crucial point when physical bill number 4 is being rejected?ummm...0
-
As I've been told by e2save, you need to show you have been connected for 120 days/4 months which is probably why they don't actually want to receive the bill until the full 4 months is up. I would forget about bill NUMBERS and rely on actual dates. You need to send the actual bill which shows you have been connected for the required period.
