  • My partner has been sitting waiting on hold to e2save for the last 40 minutes, both on the 0845 and the 01509 number simultaneously  .

I have just been reading other people's horror stories on MSE.

I haven't seen anybody reporting the same problem as ours, namely that having purchased a cashback contract last May, and not received the first cashback cheque, my O.H. was today told on the phone (before going back on hold) that he had not purchased a cashback deal.

Indeed, looking at the 'your offer explained' sheet, the box for 'Your cheque back offer information' is blank. In other words they have actually sold us something different to what we bought  .

I haven't had a chance yet to see what we still have in terms of confirmation emails from the time of buying, or got through to somebody to utter the words 'small claims court' to them, but was wondering if anyone had had the same experience or has any other advice.

Most of all I just wanted to warn others to make sure the deal they think they have bought is actually what they have been sold.

[We now have three phones blaring out the e2save hold music in sync, lol]

How are Carphone Warehouse getting away with this?

PS I have had a cashback deal with simply3g.com for 18 months now and have had an excellent experience with them :T .

madelinebagpuss I think their computers might be down ...again..

I have been chatting to CPW on and off today but I'm talking to their cancellation department not the e2save cashback one. They have offered me a redemption deal that seems good, no cashback claims to submit apparently it is done automatically, but they can't access their system to load details.. I'm getting hourly calls asking me to be patent and not to give up as they will be able to log my deal as soon as system is live again.

I don't think that is true:
    1. Registered Office is the same as CPW
    2. most Directors are also ex-CPW Directors
    3. Website is copyright CPW Plc

I am sure you are correct about this, but I was quoting what I was told by someone from Charles Dunstone's office at Carphone Warehouse. When I spoke about e2save belonging to Carphone Warehouse he said he could not interfere with e2save cashback arrangements because Carphone Warehouse did not fully own/run(?) the company yet. Maybe someone has the sort of connections that could find out exactly what influence the Carphone Warehouse has over e2save?

Well one of my contracts from last year was bought via e2save online but came from CPW and all the correspondence has been from CPW. In fact, this is the one I'm talking to CPW about now, all my bills come from them so I phoned the number on there to get my PAC number. However the cashback tracked via RPoints shows it as an e2save transaction, as does all the original paperwork I have with it.

I wonder if this is half their problem, one department/company not knowing what the others are doing or selling?

  • Happy New Year to you Mr ????. I can confirm that the correct bills you need to send back to claim your cashback are as follows :-

Month of purchase November so you need to send in your 6th bill which will be your April 2007 dated invoice, your 8th bill this will be your June 2007 invoice and your 12th bill and this will be your October 2007 invoice.
Please send your relevant bills to the address on the cashback vouchers within 30 days of the invoice date. I recommend that you send the bills by recorded delivery so that you have a recorded of postage. As long as the correct bills are sent within the correct time scale the cashback claim will be raised. The cashback vouchers have been adapted to make the cashback claim easier to understand, I would appreciate your comments if you found the cashback calendar misleading.

I hope this information clarifies the situation.

    Regards e2Save

E2save - customer support non-existant, clearance phones 2nd hand tat, terms and conditions for cashback, 3 different procedures for the same deal!!
I'm also a talktalk customer, should have known better but how Dunstone gets away with this is beyond me.
Any money I saved on the talktalk phone package dissappeared when I had to call e2save customer support - hours on the phone before a human answers.

Because he is not getting bad press yet. Even the broadband fiasco has come out as the problem was caused by the success of the venture. Once the papers realise that there will be good mileage in exposing how he treats his customers then it will snowball. Then that will wipe the smile off his face.
  • The problem with e2save is that the MD is crap, he seems to think that the company can run itself while he takes long undeserved holidays.

They really don't think the customer matters after the sale has been made, I know, I work for them.
