OK, own up!!! Who thanked e2cs?
Might not be a good idea to contact them direct in the event that there is any question as to the validity of your claim and you have posted details on this site.
MCOL seems to do the job.0 -

Would be extremely embarrassing to see any judge presented with their ludicrously misleading and incorrect cashback information and how they totally ignore the legal t&c - especially under the total and utter lie of their "price-match" terminology. They actually STILL tell people in writing that they brought those t&c so they could MATCH offers from the rival they actually stole them from. In fact, the ONLY reason they copied them (without actually bothering to read and certainly without following or even understanding them!) was to stop many more people having successful cashback claims.
No getting away from it, they are basically incompetent liars nowadays. I would definitely steer people to Phones4u - they are the complete opposite. I can't praise them highly enough - 18 months ago I had little experience of them and generally the feedback was as cpw's is now. Apart from anything else, cpw's deals nowadays are rubbish. Perhaps in 18 months's time they will be forced (can't see them doing it voluntarily) to treat customers fairly, stop trying to purposefully mislead them and actually avoid being sued! Maybe they work on that old saying - all publicity is good publicity - in which case I trust they are suitably wrong!
Hopefully they will go to court - will be good to see the judge's reaction to their pathetic twists and turns.
Just a minor point but Quidco have had problems with tracking Phones4U transactions recently. As far as I am aware though this relates to PAYG sales which were rather favourable to the purchasers!!0 -
I wonder if they've popped up here again because they're heard a whisper that this thread (and other similar ones) are being looked at closely by Ofcom, as I believe they are.
I know that Ofcom are reviewing CPW and all their operating arms following a large number of complaints, and the action they're considering is to launch an investigation into mis-selling. They've done this already with Phones 4U, and CPW could follow very shortly. If so, the costs of the investigation, and the bad publicity, are likely to cost CPW several million pounds. Sob, sob, sob.0 -
I don't expect the cost of bad publicity matters much to them - they seem to have been on a shopping spree for that in the last 15 months. It's not just ofcom (and E2Save) who watch these threads... However, they appear to have stuck their head up above the parapet for a few minutes, so maybe they will return to their bunker for the next six months, like last time. Shame!0

Sorry to dampen the dream a little. Ofcom don't scour threads for breaches of rules. They only investigate IF someone approaches them to complain.
Also, I'm not sure Ofcom deal with the retailing side, only the network side - so that would mean they have jurisdiction over TalkTalk, but not E2Save.0 -

This then means you can take out the MCOL on your return.
BTW I have sent 7 LBA and have never had a reply to one yet.
Thanks for your reply Trevor. The problem is that I will be away when E2Save write to me, rejecting my claim (I'm quite sure they will reject it). So it may be three weeks before I can send an LBA to them. Should that LBA get to them sooner?0 -

The complaints are already with them (including mine), and it does include the retail side. They're actually encouraging more complaints about CPW if anyone would like to add theirs. They know about this thread too.0 -
Ofcom's sole purpose is to look as if they're doing something to justify their own salaries. Like nearly all regulators, they are totally ineffective, disinterested and a decoy to prevent proper action. It is also the case that when a regulator DOES actually do something it usually makes things worse, not better - because by the time it does act the problem has got out of control and it uses a sledgehammer.
If E2Save choose your claim to stuff at random there's only one response they understand - and that is well documented on here over a long period.0 -

As I think I said before, just send the LBA now. If you get a reply from e2Save you
don't need to be here to receive it! (it wont be worth reading - honest)
But by sending it now you'll be in position to carry on to the next step - MCOL -
when you get back.0 -
It is unwise to send the LBA before there's cause. E2Save are frightened to actually GO to court because what they do and say is far from "reasonable". Wait the three weeks.0
