e2save problem (merged threads)

I think 95% of the failed claims are caused by people rushing in to these cash back deals without reading the T&Cs thoroughly.
Where did that figure come from?
Not from reading the experiences of unhappy customers here.
e2save simply just don't pay when they should, or say they cannot find the claim (when there is rm tracking to prove otherwise), or say you didn't claim at the right time (when we did).
Read the thread which MSEMartin had to put up after he had promoted their 6 month virgin cashback deal. They refused to pay out, using a trick on what the "3rd month's bill" meant, and the ensuing bad publicity on here meant MSEMartin (who was getting flak for promoting what looked a scam) had to publicly have a go at them and step in to help people get paid.
Also note their cynical, yet well worn approach to customers when they get fed up and take legal action. (Their solicitor sends a defence denying they owe anything at all to the customer, and signs it to be a statement of the truth, when at the same time they have staff in correspondence with the customer trying to do an out of court settlement for less than the amount claimed!)0 -
Has anyone else noticed that all you ever seem to get now from Royal Mail on their website (Recorded delivery tracking) is this:
It's on its way - Your item with reference D**********GB is currently progressing through our network.
The reason - and I've taken this up with them - is that they don't bother to get signatures where there are multiple items. All of my recent recorded delivery items to e2save are still showing this message, weeks later, and there is no proof of delivery.
Try yours and see what message you get.0 -
As others have said repeatedly in this thread, for sending cashback claims you're best off using Special Delivery (with Consequential Loss insurance).
I've sent some written correspondance to the 3R House address using Recorded Signed For, and it has all ended up with POD (although the ePOD is useless, e2save seem to deliberately avoid signing in the correct place which means you have to ring up RM then they forward you the entire sheet).0 -
Just received my final cash back from E2Save and have to say the whole process has been fairly painless,in fact the final cheque instead of being for £62.75 was for £72.00 and when i inquired why they told me it was an error on their part but just to keep the extra £10.00.
Like Mobilejunkie says its important to get those dates sorted out right at the outset.0 -

Even though you didn't answer my question to you, I will answer yours.
It is important to read the ts & cs as their cashback sales blurb doesn't really tell us the truth.
On reading their ads, it appears they are anxious to give away 12 months line rental in return for entering a network agreement from them.
The reality is that is a come on, and they will do all in their power to avoid paying. Firstly by making the claiming procedure complicated, sometimes insisting on original bills only, sometimes recommending recorded delivery, then saying even if you used recorded delivery and it gets lost in the post we won't pay you etc etc.
So it is important with these contracts to understand what is required before agreeing to them.
However, the majority of people posting problems here have stuck rigidly to the ts + cs, which shows us that e2save have a plan B to not pay out. How many they decide to try this out on we don't know, but it seems a sizeable number from reports not only here, but across the net on similar message boards.0 -

Have you stopped to think of all the thousands of people who have had their money back without a problem?. For every person who writes a letter on here complaining about not getting their cash back, there will be fifty who have received their money .
I stand by what I said, whether you agree with me or not, I really don't care!
People are still entering into cash back deals without reading and fully understanding the T&Cs, and that is a fact!0 -
Why the aggression - this thread is concerned with helping people having problems with e2save.
How does your contribution suggesting all but 5% of us having problems have brought it on ourselves further this?0 -
I have consistently warned people that they MUST read, copy understand and follow the legal t&c rather than the totally misleading ones this company consistently sends out. No-one (count me as one) knows how many "thousands" successfully claim; but I do know there is a never-ending stream of people on about a dozen separate threads on this lot who did follow the legal t&c and were denied until they sued. In fact, I foresaw at least one of the problems six months before they started to appear on here. I am rarely wrong where this company is concerned - and neither is Quentin. I will leave it to others to decide whose advice to follow.0

Quentin, I am not defending E2save when it comes to them not paying people money that is owed to them. I am stating that a lot of people don't read the T&Cs correctly. If you think I am wrong that's fine, but if I am wrong, and people are reading and understanding them, why are you and Mobilejunkie forever telling people to read the T&Cs thoroughly before committing to a contract?
Well, I bought a phone from e2save at the end of March on a 12 month free contract.
I've read the T&Cs and I know I will have to claim cash back in 3 months time.
The problem is that I still haven't got my £111 auto cash back.
My set of T&C's say that it should take a month to get the auto cash back but the T&C's on their website say that it takes two months.
You seems to know a lot about cash back deals. Can you please tell me what I've done wrong?More bearish than bullish at the moment0
