Friend at work gave me three Phillipa Gregory books. 2 that I hadn't got. Passed the 3rd one onto someone else - with all these book swaps I won't have to buy another book for a very long time!!!!

Feeling rather guilty this morning :o

Have not read my books this week rather caught up with a debt free diary thread this week :o:T

However got the Happiness Project on Kindle.... Which I've found a great and interesting read so far.

Took my kindle to London but the battery was flat

Ended up buying two books ( one work ) and one about the Anglican Faith  to my book pile

Also couldn't resist The Time Keeper in the library too.... Oh dear :D

Think I need to get started....
As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or
What does the saying say.... When life hands you lemons, make lemonade
Or as my Mum would say, brush yourself down, tomorrow is another day or
Fake it, to you Make It

Please say hello my new diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6578460/still-dancing-to-blow-the-debt-clouds-away

Island.girl, If you join any of those groups below in your region and offer them there they will be gone like hot cakes and you don't even have to take them anywhere! Or if you have the time you can sell them on amazon ?

Or release a few as bookcrossing books? www.bookcrossing.com :) I don't know all the active shelves in London, I know there's quite a big one in Waterloo.

Wow, that is still going? I remember when it started off but never heard about it again.

Lent one book and gave two to a friend today - that's two more off my shelf. Enjoying Wives and lovers still.
    What is book crossing. Com?

  • Bookcrossing was originally the idea of assigning ID numbers to books and leaving ("releasing") books in random places - the person who found the book ideally left a journal entry for it online (as a registered user or anonymously) and so you could track the book's journey. There are organised forms of bookcrossing as well where people send a book on or swap books at meetings etc. You can have a look at the site's forum, but basically it's all around sharing and exchanging books - for free :) I have read a ton of books thanks to bookcrossing which I might have otherwise not even heard of :)

Thank you Renifer. Sounds like a great way to get free books.

Not only that, but you get to meet a lot of very kind and generous people on the way! :)

This is the official shelf that I know of in London: http://www.bookcrossing.com/hunt/3/1558/150864/451804

Thanks for the recommendation on here - I just finished "Gone girl". Interesting twist but I had wished for a different ending somehow...
    Good read!
