Another one finished :T:T:T and completed the challenge I set myself earlier in the week.

Really thought provoking and with this one I think I'm going to write a reflection for a blog post.

Undersong - Listening to the Soul by Peter B Price.

This is keeper - as there's lots of references. Want o follow up.

A confession while in London.... I bought What Anglicans Believe by Samuel Wells.... So I think this is going to be my next daily challenge.

Now for something completely different ... The Capitive Queen... Which I'm really having mixed feelings about I loved Alison Weirs biography on Eleanor of Aquitaine but as many of the reviewers on Good Reads have said theres an awful lot of focus on sex to my liking.
As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or
What does the saying say.... When life hands you lemons, make lemonade
Or as my Mum would say, brush yourself down, tomorrow is another day or
Fake it, to you Make It

I fully agree ;) - it might help Gem-gem avoiding to add to her stack with a copy of "Before I go to sleep" though, they must have several copies of best sellers :). I usually only take audios out to make my time in the kitchen more interesting . Looking at the bookshelf and at my library rentals I do spend so much more time with a book this way than actual reading

Yes, I will try the library. I have lots of books to take back by Wednesday that I used for work.
An audiobook is also another good idea. I use to listen to lots of audiobooks.

  • Hello all, I am re joining the thread. I haven't bought many real books but tons of Kindle ones.:naughty:
I am challenging myself to read 15 books from my shelf downstairs. Most of my Kindle books have been non fiction cook books or self help books:rotfl: so after finishing the 2nd Game of Thrones novel on Kindle I will start Winter's Tales by Karen Blixen.

I borrowed it quite a while ago and it was on my wish list a long time before that but when I saw they'd made a film I thought I should read it before someone watches it and spoils the book!

That's why I'm reading it at the moment as well. And next on my list is Gone Girl for the same reason

I always prefer to read the book first if possible although I find it's not generally a good idea to see the movie too soon after reading the book as I spend too much time doing comparisons and the film has to be shorter than the book.

Counting my books and ebooks would take up too much valuable reading time but I am trying to read from my collection instead of adding to it. Sometimes this thread doesn't help as I like to follow up on the recommendations :D
