  • Re cuddling LB until he slept

I am really going to regret this...

He actually has been a good sleeper. He was always just fine. Having said that I have had plenty of interrupted nights for the last week but that is to do with conjunctivitis.

When I post about LB being a good sleeper someone always points out - but you said/blogged/posted that he didn't sleep on... But honestly, most of the time he sleeps really well. I go for months and months without him waking in the night. Despite everything I've done. DH calls him a 'trainer baby' because he has really been so little trouble. Despite everything I have done.

Also - LB has just started to reject reins, a harness which looks really cruel until you realise how good it is at stopping little ones hurtling into the path of danger or being taken by oddbods.

Also whenever I post about LB being a good sleeper I usually have some really appalling nights for the next week. Sigh.

    i am a bad mummy of ds1 5 and ds2 14 months.

    my list of naughtiness:
ds1 gets locked in his bedroom at night (stops him eating contents of fridge and doing something dangerous)
i like school days as i get some peace.
i tell ds1 to be quiet a million times a day
    ds2 was FF
ds2 takes a bottle to bed
ds2 would only sleep in his car seat so would put car seat in cot
leave children in sleep suits all day.
will top up ds2 bottle with out rinsing first
dont wash kitchen and bathroom floor as often as i should
never ever iron (unless its a special occasion)

the list goes on and on

but noone can ever be a badder mummy than my mum...age 2 1/2 she made me a seat for the back of her push bike...rode down the road with me strapped in back....forgot the wheel guards....leg got stuck in the wheel and broke my leg ina lovely zigzag pattern up my leg....had a plaster cast from toes to thigh!!!!

i'm a bad mummy too, but my twins have survived do far, they are now 14
i bf for 6 weeks, then gave in to formula,
i started weaning them at 8 weeks, they were hungry
i never forced them to do homework, if they got in to trouble it was there fault for not doing it
i sometimes shout, i'm not good at mornings
i let them have a messy room, if they not tidying it, neither am i
i often feed them out of date food, hasnt killed them yet
i let them spend too long in front of tv/games comsoles/computer
i sometimes let them have a small drink of alcohol,
enjoy life, we only get one chance at it:)

  • LB has a chain on his room safety gate, for the sake of my sanity.

Also, bringing him home from nursery there was a hole dug in a patch of grass, fenced off with boards over it. LB said his favourite phrase - 'what's that?' I said 'It's a hole, there might be a dragon in it.'

This was a severe error of judgement - I literally dragged LB past the hole. And as he never forgets anything I expect that to happen until the hole is filled in. Darn and Poot.

  • I really want to join in but feel bad cos I'm cooking another one to badly mother. Anywho, here goes-

I got pregnant by accident, therefore
I have worked full time since baby was five and a half months old
and at weekends I do (minimal) cleaning and washing when I should be spending time with my baby to enjoy her while she's little
I put my baby in a cot in her own room, on a different floor, when she was just days old cos I couldn't sleep through the noise
I did controlled crying when she was a baby, and it is only by default that she isn't scarred by her experience
I use/make a naughty step, even at other people's houses
I only wash my baby's hair once a week, and sometimes don't brush it every day unless the jam in it is obvious to third parties
When baby (4) sledged down the stairs into the wall the first thing we did was shout at her
Sometimes use baby as a little slave to fetch and carry
Make baby (4) still have a nap on the weekends even though nobody else does
Still give baby (4) her warmed milk in a beaker twice a day

There must be millions more ways that I badly mother my child, but that's just for starters.

Hope all you bad parents have a lovely evening.

I put DD in her walker and spend the next 20 minutes saying "nooooo nooooo - leave the clean washing alone you little toadfish (yes I call her toadfish - it's cute to me - deal with it :D)"

I also dress her in "boy colours" because I don't like pink... I have loads of pink things for her, I just don't like the colour :) My favourite outfit for her is a black and red knitted jumper with a huge skull and cross bones on it - it ROCKS! She was also the only baby in the maternity ward wearing a skull and crossbones sleepsuit - black with pink motifs... why? Because I couldn't bear the "cuteness" and found it hillarious when people realised what it was... Hey I was stuck in my bed with a catheter... I needed something to laugh about!

    Hello,

I am also a bad Mummy to DS of nearly 4 months!

He is formula fed, been sleeping in his own room since he was 10 weeks old, I also let him stay in babygrows for more than 1 day if they are clean! Plus lots of other terrible things!

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

This is a great thread. I'm a bad mummy because:

    I used disposables and wipes

I used formula from 12 weeks at night

We put dd in her own room, in a cot a 3 weeks-well she snored!

I gave her gripe water before she was 3 months old

I gave her night time calpol until I was told it wasn't supposed to be given to babies under 2yrs :o

She occasionally gets a smack on the hand or bottom if she is really naughty!

I left her own her own on the settee when she was 4 months old and she was reaching for my banana and fell off onto the laminate floor (felt really guilty about that and dreaded explaining to my Mum why she had a huge bump on her head!)

She sat in her P J's until 11.30am today watching Peppa Pig :o (I was trying to get some housework done).

She had a dummy (I didn't appreciate my nipple being used as a dummy )

Used to wonder what on earth it was she was putting in her mouth this time and then decided it was probably better not knowing! lol

I'm sure there is more but can't think, and you know what I wont do anything different with my next one!:D
