My first day of motherhood (DS1 was born at 9.31pm and he was taken to SCBU at 1am) I picked my little 5lb5oz son out of his crib in SCBU, complete with his nasal gastric tube, all gentle and fragile like, sat down and cracked his head off the corner of the crib! I looked for SS for a week! :rotfl:
I switched to formula with all 3, later with my DD.
I have been giving DD jars even though I claim to detest them
I shout and yell and threaten to smack bums.
I have even swore infront of them (not at them, I'm not that bad yet).
I let the boys play at the park on their own.
I aim for a twice weekly bath but usually its a sunday night when their hair smells of straw, sweat and or vomit.
I let DS1 walk to and from school by himself.
Cereal is a filling dinner if you give them enough.
Chocolate is a way to shut them up for 5 mins.
Their room is always a pig sty.
They are allowed t play the xbox and the wii and play games that are not age apropriate.
I leave them alone in the morning so I can do my make up and if that makes them late, tough.
Today I forgot to give Ds1 lunch money.
And right now my DD is in her crib crying and I am not going to pick her up because she is tired and needs a sleep.
Am I in?0 -
This thread is class.....and I've probably done them all!!!! Keep them coming!!!!You may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
You just keep on walking0 -
hey everyone, just got back from school run, and really really shouted at ds. (bad bad mummy!)
he decided to do one of his ''let go of hand and run as fast as you can's''. but this time he ran straight out into the road, luckily there were no cars coming but i could have died!! you can imagine the telling of he got when i caught up with him. the thing is, he knows that we look both ways when we come to a road etc but when he bolts it he just doesnt do anything but run!.
has anyone ever had this trouble with their kids? if so do you have any advice?
he's too big for a pram now and when we put reigns(sp?) on he just lays on the floor and refuses to move. im going to use the reigns again now purely because i can deal with a tantrum but not with him getting run over by a car!! he spent 10 mins on the naughty step (how long it took him to tell me what it was that he done wrong and say sorry)
any advice? Can you see the mountains through the fog?0 -
I used to use a wrist strap for my 2 youngest. My daughter was especially bad for this. Plus they can hold hands or they can feel like they are walking on their own.0

I sometimes get ds to sit in his buggy when we are running late, tell him its too cold to walk or maybe he would like to snuggle in with a blanky and his (my ancient) iPOD.
He's 4 in june and starts school in september but I cant stop to look at every leaf, flower, snail, worm, dead bird, dog poo on the way to our destination all the time.....plus the buggy is handy for shopping, i cant carry it AND hold his hand at the same time.0 -
Supernanny covered this one... it was on a rerun a few days ago...
the children could run away as they wanted but only as far as mum felt comfy with, if they didn't stop when told they had to hold the buggy till they got home, if they didn't do that they got the naughty corner (bless that naughty corner... I want one for hubby!)
No idea if that would work for you but might be worth a try?DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I now have alarms set on my mobile which lies on the coffee table every morning: 8.30 teeth brushed, 8.40 Shoes and jackets on 8.45 Out the door, my kids have it down to a tee and know which tune is for each "job" (there's actually 7:o), so now all I have to remember is to charge my phone!!! (and where I left my keys!)
PMSL at this thread, very funny!
That is a very good idea!

This is probably one of the main reasons why we are late in the morning, I just prefer to blame the kids!!
When we took DS1 to Center Parcs when he was 9 months old and I forgot to pack the nappies - disposable ones at that! I only had about 4 in the changing bag so I had to pay 3 times as much for a pack of Pampers at the shop on site.
My dad couldnt believe I had forgotton something so obvious!
My kids are now playing on the Wii (which is only supposes to be used at weekends) whilst I have a brew and catch up on here. Although I am also in the process of making home made tomato soup because DS2 says "its the bestest soup in the world eva!"0 -
I'm workinmummy and i'm a bad mummy because, you've guest it
- I work!!! fulltime.
- Childminder and grandparents look after DS2 and Afterschool club takes care of DS1 until I finish work.
-I am currenty formula feeding, and did with DS1, with no intention of ever Breast feeding
-DS2 has been in his own room since 8 weeks old.
-I shout alot especially in the mornings.
-DS1 currently cannot find his spellings home work. I do not care - its his fault if he can't be bothered to actually fasten his school bag, so things don't fall out.
- DS1 not only has a TV in his room, but also Sky.
- There is nothing wrong with watching TV, i think it has given DS1 a very good start to his education. Between Bear in the Big Blue House, Little Einsteins, The Numberjacks, Something Special, Pipin, Big Cook Little Cook, Nina and the Neurons, Tommy Zoom and so on, many areas of school were pretty much covered.
- Even though i puree'd food for DS1 he still turned out to be a fussy eater. And yes Supernoodles are good enough for him for his "tea".
-Calpol, Nurofen, gripe water are my friends.0 -
mmmmmm super noodles....
Found the blasted thing btw... it was behind a sofa... think that took me about 2 hours... ARGH!!!!! *sigh*DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

gripe mixture becomes anbesol becomes malt whisky becomes a dip of the baby's dummy to a dip on the baby's dummy a liberal amount rubbed on the gums to mouthwash to a swig for me and a swig for baby..
I have been known to chant
Infacol, Infacol ra-ra-ra at 3 am!!
Cat food IS fit for human (or baby) consumption
Vomit is banned... totally
if the cat licks your dinner you are still eating it you should have been more careful.. ditto spillage of juice, dropping on floor
oh.. we also implement the '10 second rule' outdoors.. if you drop it you can still eat it so long as it was less than 10 seconds on the floor.. or in my case nearer half an hour.. Worm medicine is given every 3 months along with the cats.
I begrudge wiping noses but refuse to wipe bottoms... sniffing will not be tolerated..
I had mouldy lemsips in my cupboard.. ah they'll be fine (5 years out of date) they weren't.. I do not own a sticky plaster. Savlon is for cats abcesses. insect bites teach you not to antagonise wasps. calpol is fairly new.. only 4 months past its best before..
in my defence.. While I may have made some of them vomit (How was I to know the readymade custard was 2.5 years out of date?!) I have never killed anyone!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
