If you want to go up inside the Crown of the SoL book now from HERE, there is plenty of availability for May but it's sold out through till the end of April so book it soon. It only costs $3 more to go up the crown and you get fast track entry into the pedestal/museum area.
I keep wondering whether to just pay as I go but I know I can get lazy on holiday and just not bother/or keep looking at the cost of things and get put off!! I've now moved on to the http://www.smartdestinations.com/new-york-attractions-and-tours/_d_Nyc-p1.html?pass=Nyc_Prod_Exp explorer pass, 5 excursions for 120usd each which sounds pretty good, still not sure if people do top of the Rock and Empire State?0 -
we got a 3 day new york pass https://www.newyorkpass.com/En/?aid=12&gclid=Cj0KEQiA_eXEBRDP8fnIlJDXxsIBEiQAAGfyoYS7xJTbop_ArnZ1t56UsBdCIe8LTe_iuRofNLc2SY8aAp5W8P8HAQ
it included on off bus rides and i found that it was worth the money we did , ESB, 9 11 MUSEUM, TOTR, BROOKLYN TOUR, HARLEM,BATTERY PARK, THE SOL BOAT CRUISE. We found the fact we could jump on and off bus ideal for going around as the bus routes cover most of manhatten and you can get on and off at any stop. the guides on the buses are very knowledgeable and do point out places you might like to visit that are not on the normal list of tourist spots. we booked ours in nyc and collected them from their office near times square, you get a great little guide book tho so might be worth booking them before hand so you can have a read of the book and plan what you would like to visit.
we tried out the brail brail restaurant it was lovely https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g60763-d1368037-Reviews-Brazil_Brazil-New_York_City_New_York.html0 -

I meant more choose your must sees and pre book them individually rather than buy a pass and then feel you have to get your moneys worth and do the round the island boat trip/visit a museum/hop on and off a bus etc.
We had a few "must dos" SoL, ESB, WTC, walk the Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square and Central Park a bit of shopping/just wandering about enjoying the atmosphere and it worked well for us. Only "regret" was getting the bus down to Battery Park to get some pics of the SoL at night and not jumping on the Staten Island Ferry..that'll be on our next trip...God willing.0 -

The weather will be much the same as over here, maybe a little cooler especially in the shade of the sky scapers ! I'd wrap up warm as you can always take your coat off. The most important thing is comfortable shoes.
Not heard anything of Greenie :rotfl:
I've sent you a DM

I considered every pass available and passed in the end. We didn't want to spend every minute of every day trying to get our money's worth.
We picked ToTR - great views of ESB and right down to SoL and Brooklyn Bridge on the day we visited!0 -

greenies here and still hoping . poorly parents and busy work can be a pain sometimes . If I knew it was going to be like this I would never of had parents . never been up the ESB . feel the view from the TOTR is more iconic , ESB is nice to stand next to but up there hasn't been on my list . Better buildings around NYC anyway just not as tall . I wing it when there with good intensions of going places and dip out on the day because I'm enjoying myself elsewhere , spent a full day around the flatiron thinking I would spend an hour once . Mrs greenie loves the shopping . I'm a foodie and bar person so sometimes half a day "wasted " means just that . March can be freezing in the shade wear lots of layers and take a bag to put the lots of layers in if I'm wrong . enjoy NYC:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0
