I have been on aol for 5 years. i called the cancellation number and tried to get aol platnium for £9.99 but the rep said that i have to take the free 12 month talk pakage which i did not want.
Therefore i got aol siver for £9.99 and i said can you please give me a free router (i already have a aol router, but thought i can give it to a family memeber) the rep said he cannot do that instaed he gave me one month free worth £9.99.:T :T :T :T
Thank you very much to the person who started this thred:T :T0 -
i rang AOL for a mac code last night as i was about to switch to sky, they were quite happy to do this then after seeing i was paying £29.99 a month and the reason i was leaving was the price, they offered me £9.99 a month forever( and that was for platinum) and free evening and weekend calls for 12 months which is better than i was going to get from sky! needless to say i stayed with AOL.0

i say keep checking your speed as AOL are giving most people the 8mb platinum for £9.99 :j
but you are only getting 1 or 2mbps after about a month
so i bet if you check your speed your only getting 1 or 2mbps on the platinum lol :rotfl:0 -

If you are on Platinum, you are on a DSL / LLU MAX service. Your line speed will be the maximum stable speed that it can get, up to 8mb. The speed is not reduced after about a month (or ever).0 -

Aol is loosing customers a LOT! Call them and say I want a better deal or I'm cancelling my service, then tell them you want the 9.99 service and they will give it to you. I got it on the first try!!0
