    :), speed is not bad. The maximum I can get is 130 kB/s.

    At last my fella finally contacted AOL to see if he could get me the router for free, after much discussion he manged to get me at last a router. Also a bonus for him they upgraded him to Platinum for the same price he is paying now for gold..So we will wait and see if we have any probs with the upgrade etc

    If I were you I'd get on the phone to AOL pronto, you should be getting 1MB. (1000 KB/S)

    Ok, just checked and it is 1024 not 1000! I wasn't that far off was I? :wink:
  • I think what Espresso means is you're confusing bits with bytes.

    Marquis said he was getting 130kB/s. The upper-case B means bytes. So on a 1Mb/s (bits) connection, 130kB/s is the best you can expect.
  • Marquis which number did you ring to get the £9.99 deal, and did you have to quote any promo code etc? Thanks.
  • Another update....spoke to verious customer services and tech support people...still no further getting my connection...now 26 days since I signed up for a migration and still no connection...Bet they will class this screw up as my free month

  • My brother is paying £31.99 for AOL and he dosnt do anything more adventurous that surfing ...no downloading or anything. I told him thats crazy...he wants to stay on aol cos of his email address etc but is there a free phone number other than the 0870 number ? we going to ring in the morning.is the AOL silver at £14.99 only for new customers ?
