Anyone used RPC Recycle?

I am very disappointed. I know that that the BB torch identify to rpcwas in perfect working order. They offered 75pounds for it so I sent it to them. They have now told me that due to faults they are only willing to pay thirty five pounds. I have to pay five pounds to get it back.
The phone has hardly been used in just hope get it back in the same condition I sent it in but I don't hold out much hope. I should have sold it to CEX when I had the chance.

HTC One X - I was originally quoted £158 on their website, opted for the recorded delivery bag to be sent out. you still have to then pay for the recorded delivery when you take it to the post office - the point in having this option on their website???
Anyway, sent the phone, checked the Royal mail tracking website, was delivered fine! then got a reminder email from RPC to "don't forget to send your phone". Phoned RPC the next day to check, the guy couldn't tell me if it had been delivered as they had a whole heap to go through (is there just one person going through the mail??)
Got an email later on that evening stating it had to be re-valued due to faults, the phone is only six months old, no problems with it, only a few minor scratches on the back! they only offered me £134! I declined the offer and then got an email:
"Thank you for using RPC Recycle, Sorry that you did not accept the offer that was made for your handset. We have re-tested the handset and unfortunately due to the nature of the faults we cannot offer you anymore money"
What faults????
Anyway, I now have to pay them £5.00 to get my phone returned to me.
Would just like to say, I have used other reputable companies before and what they quote on the website, is what you get!
AVOID RPC RECYCLING - Time wasted and not what they say!0 -
I too have been told that a revaluation on receipt of my phone has reduced the value of their offer. My phone was in perfect working order & well looked after, so there is no reason for this.
I'd rather pay £5 for them to send it back than fall for their shady tactics!
Not impressed!0 -
They offered me £70 for a Blackberry Torch. Reduced to £17 on account of the warranty sticker allegedly being broken. Absolute rubbish. Steer very clear0

So once you decline initial offer they re-test the handset?
Do you have confirm that you want the phone to be send back after this email?0 -
As long as your phone meets their conditions you should get full value. If it's all scratched up and busted you might experience problems. Other things that catch people out is not knowing if there phone is water damaged or not. I would say check out review centre but I just read yesterday about companies buying reviews on there!0

I have just used this lot for my wifes blackberry. They quoted £50.00 which was more than any other but after we posted it out they then e-mailed us and offered £40.00. I declined the offer as the phone was in mint condition. I e-mailed them back to complain as they rob you £5.00 to return your phone even though it only cost me £3.00 to post it first class, trackable and insured via the post office. They also have small print that says that if you do not accept/decline the offer within seven days they can keep the phone and just send you what ever the offer is/was. They have no complaints process so really when they have your phone you are stuffed.
I have paid the five pounds over the phone but I half expect the phone to be lost in the post or damaged in transit or whatever they decide to do. Steer clear is my advice, accept a lower value from a more reputable company.0 -
I sent them a 4 month old blackberry, that was for all intents and purposes just about brand new. I got offered 72 which was the best offer i could find. I sent it to them and i got an e-mail saying due to wear and tear they were offering 52. I declined straight away, knowing that it was in almost mint condition. I then got an e-mail saying they had re-tested it and they found it to be worth 72. I accepted it again as i just wanted the phone off my hands. If you feel you have to use this lot them make sure you refuse their "revised offer".
I will certainly not be using them again0 -
Im going to try these for my 6 month old iPhone 3GS. I'll report how it goes.0

Do not use this company, they are a rip off. I sent a fully working Blackberry bold in, it had some cosmetic damage, they offered £6.60 from a possible i66 as advertised. It did not even cover the cost of postage. And to add insult to injury they are charging a further £5 to get it back. Please if you have any sense use one of the other recyclers and not this one. I bet when it comes back it will not work (if I ever get it back)!!0
