I'm confused ...what is the connection between Santander Cards and MBNA ?

Exactly! That's the problem - they're so incompetent they put the wrong number on the letters they send out!
  • i applied at the end of january. Got the paperwork through middle of february and got the card through yesterday. Only got a 1k limit. I applied to BT over 2.5k

I notice a payment of £500 was paid off my other CC. I assume its the a&l paid it but why wouldn't they pay off the £1000?

Because it is over 95% of your limit ???

They only gave me £2200 which is not nearly enough to BT what I want so I have written to the underwriters in MK asking for an increase.

That would make perfect sense as to why! :)

can you keep us posted in how you get on with the increase please?

Sending the second set off might have been a mistake if they were the same .I and others have had second sets of T+C's to sign .I got mine ( this time with an ID request) saying they cdnt send the card as they had not received the first set after I knew that the card was on it's way and it arrived a few days after ...Santander are a big enough shambles without you causing yourself more delays but too late now:-(

I probably have now hit a record of sorts....received a 3rd set of forms to sign and send together with id (this one is dated 3rd march). Very tempted to sign and return this one as well...after all how bad can it get :D

They tferred £1990 of a £2000 limit on to my new card. I'd call about that.

I'd like to apply for this. The problem, just moved house and haven't changed my address with A&L yet, does this matter?

    Might do.

If you give them your new address then you may not have been at it long enough and may not be on the electoral register so they may decline you.

If you give them your old address then you're technically giving them the wrong information on your application which could come back to bite you later.

Standard advise is to apply for any credit products before you move to avoid the new address problems.

Unless you desperately need the credit, I'd just sort out the address thing and wait 6 months.

A warning for those who have made it through the application minefield and completed a successful BT:

    Check your first statement!
Despite me applying for the card via the promotional 0% link in the "my offers" area of my online A & L current account they have charged the full 3% BT fee on my statement

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Here goes another phone call......

    Hey Lifebegins,

I have the same problem as you. Called Santander number on back of credit card about 3-4weeks ago and was told they would investigate.

Hadn't heard anything back so phoned up this morning and was told that the applications system has the fee as correct and I need to go into the branch to try and get it refunded. Asked for the number for the branch and was given 0500313233 MNBA number!!!!

How are you getting on with it as I would love to know how to resolve it!

    :D

Have been told will need to go into the branch to rectify it, let me know if you have any joy!
