Well I rang yesterday to wish Santander a happy anniversary and to ask why its taken 2 months to get absolutely no where and apparantly I was sent out a credit agreement on the 16th of Feb which ofcourse hasnt arrived.

I asked to complain and was put on hold for 20 minutes only to get through to Virgin credit card sevices.... VIRGIN !!! (Last time I asked to complain I was put through to the Bank of America !!). I rung Santander back again and the young lady said she would ask the Underwriters IF they could send me a new set of forms. IF ??? Do they not want my business ? What the heck is going on at Santander????

Do not confuse them saying that the T+C for you to sign and return were "sent out" on the 16th Feb with "Were Posted" on the 16th Feb .Mine were "sent out" on the 22 Jan but it was at least 2 weeks before they arrived .Same thing with the card .I was told the first time it was "sent out" on the 16th Feb but next time I called I was told it had been " Processed" on the 16th Feb and it arrived just last week so hang on in there .
I also got a second set of T+C saying they cdn't send the card out as I had not returned them ( which I had ) .This second lot also asked for ID which the first lot hadn't ..I just ignored that letter and the card arrived a few days later .Clearly Santander are a shambles .

For those who are waiting for clues on how applications are coming through here is an update:
    Applied via phone: 9th Feb
Recd forms to sign: 3rd March - the covering letter was dated Feb 22nd (I know RM are bad...but really not so bad!)

Now need to send them the signed form plus identity papers...and then another wait begins.

Further update...even though I sent off the signed papers & id on 4th, another set of forms came in through the post today (this one is dated March 2nd). Have now send off this one as well. So lets see what happens:eek:

Sending the second set off might have been a mistake if they were the same .I and others have had second sets of T+C's to sign .I got mine ( this time with an ID request) saying they cdnt send the card as they had not received the first set after I knew that the card was on it's way and it arrived a few days after ...Santander are a big enough shambles without you causing yourself more delays but too late now:-(

    I applied on 7th Feb through A & L website (I have a current account with them).
Received the forms to sign & send back with ID yesterday.
The letter said they'd already sent the forms out & I hadn't replied (I never received anything).

I now have to send ID back, I was going to send CTC award & a bank statement. Do you think this will suffice? What have other people sent? I don't want to send my passport!!

Like molley says, the letter specifically states that they don't want you to send originals.

I just scanned in my passport photo page and sent it back to them. Curious why they need ID when I've already got quite a few accounts and an ISA with them.

    Thanks.
It seems to be the norm now, I suppose if you applied over the internet, they don't actually now it's you unless you provide ID.
We had a virgin credit card intercepted in the post. Virgin asked for no ID, applied over the internet & the card was sent out!! So, I'm happy they ask for ID.

I to applied for a new card via internet in Jan, numerous phone calls later the application papers arrived 4 weeks later from app date.
The new card arrived this week.
Two more sets of app forms arrived in post after sending first set back to them.
Some companies like santander are now getting too big to give you the service you should expect to receive.
