And it is also in the Summary Box on the final sheet but have there not been folk on here saying that they def have the 0%-0% card but have still been charged a BT Fee?...Given what Santander have been doing it's hardly surprising .

If your T&C's say 0% fee then you just wave that at them and inform them to refund the fees, plus a £25 token of their sincere apology. They don't have a leg to stand on.

The saga continues.....Over 4 weeks and 3 forms later, I now received the card PIN.Still to come the card, online details, balance transfer....at this rate I have already lost 2 of the 12 advertised 0% BT months.

Should they be allowed to advertise 12 month 0%BT when clearly not a single customer will be able to take advantage of the entire time period?

Hi people. Any advise welcome as this is playing on my mind. just taken out a santander mortgage (stunning deal!) so I'm entitled to apply for a cc, BUT I was initially gonna use it to 'load' before a holiday(don't quite know how to do that) but then thought I could move my Virgin cc £7k debt and use it for drawing currency from an ATM in Bulgaria in the summer having paid my holiday spends onto it and reducing the balance before we travel to £6k. Not sure that makes any sense!!!!I don't half waffle on................

I wouldn't do that. It's very likely against the T&Cs. And the chances are the card will be blocked if the pre-load is significant.

Don't mix BTs and cash withdrawals on the same card. The order of payments means the cash balance will accrue 27.9% APR interest until you clear the entire balance.

Thanks Yorkshire boy. I was under the impression that cash withdrawals abroad were free on this cc? Not familiar enough with this game to know all the rules!!!

They're fee-free (ie you won't be charged a circa 3% fee) but not interest free.

If you went with your plan you'd pay circa £30 a year interest for every £100 you withdrew from the ATM...and you'd continue to pay this until you'd cleared the Virgin BT (and whatever else you put on the card).

Got my second refusal letter today. Just mentions that they used Experian yadayada, and is not really very helpful. Not quite sure why I have been refused now that I am on the electoral roll.
Total debt at lightbulb moment (Jan 2010): £23410
    Target for Dec 2011: £17000
    Lloyds - Early Jan: £[STRIKE]2040[/STRIKE] Feb: £[STRIKE]2050[/STRIKE] Mar: £0
    Other Lloyds @ highest: £9800 Feb: £9800

    Current debt: £23420

Your current debt of £22K isn't helping, especially if it's high in relation to your income.
  • Jesus, what a farce. I applied about the start of February and heard nothing until this morning, when I received a 'reminder' letter asking me to sign and return with ID as they'd apparently asked in a previous letter, which I didn't get.

I took a look at the summary page, and noted that balance transfers were to be charged at 3%, even though I'm an existing A&L current account customer. I then rang the number on the letter, which asked me to input my credit card number- which obviously I don't have. I checked on the Santander website and ended up dialling 0845 603 3507.

They couldn't tell me what my credit limit would be (which is bloody useful), but the woman said just to sign the agreement and write with proof that I was an A&L account holder so I could get the 0% BT fee. I replied that I wasn't going to sign an agreement that stated 3% and could they send out some revised agreement forms. she got flustered and eventually told me to call 0800 389 9905.

After calling, I went through all my details and the problem again and got told to call the original 0845 number; when I pointed out that it required a credit card number which I don't have, I was told to call the second 0845 number from the website. After patiently pointing out that I just had, and they'd given me the 0800 number, the woman finally went away and did some digging. Evidently, she didn't dig very far, as she was under the impression I'd applied by phone. When I told her I'd actually applied online, she took some more details and went away again for ten minutes. Finally, she came back and said she couldn't do anything today as the department that deals with applications weren't in, but she would call me back on Tuesday.

    I await with baited breath.

Just out of interest, what sort of limits are people getting? On the low side? I'm not too bothered as I applied for a Halifax all in One card last week and got approved, so I can BT from my existing Nationwide card with no problem, but it would be handy to make a free BT and use the Halifax card for 12 months purchases instead.

You are not the only one to get duplicate letters .I got a second set of T+C after returning the original ones which did not want ID but the second set did .I just ignored them and the card arrived 2 days later .

What's wrong with her calling you on Monday?

As for credit limits the amounts seem to vary a lot .I only got £2200 and have written to the underwriters asking for an increase .
