You are not the only one to get duplicate letters .I got a second set of T+C after returning the original ones which did not want ID but the second set did .I just ignored them and the card arrived 2 days later .

:rotfl: I read the various horror stories from about page 8 onwards....

What's wrong with her calling you on Monday?

As for credit limits the amounts seem to vary a lot .I only got £2200 and have written to the underwriters asking for an increase .

I think she muttered something about she'd be working in the evening on Monday, so she won't have been able to get all the info by then. To be honest my eyes were beginning to glaze over by then.

Reading back through the thread, it seems a few people have been given low limits as well. I think if they can't sort out the 0% BT, I might just cancel the application- I don't want to be !!!!!!ing around chasing things up for the next few weeks, just to be given a £750 limit with the 3% BT fee still attached.

Your current debt of £22K isn't helping, especially if it's high in relation to your income.

That's possible. However my plan was to move the current high APR card debt onto a 0% Santander card. tbh I was planning on waiting a few months to apply for a 0% or low LOTB APR card, but the bank manager at my local A&L told me that I could get the Santander card.
Granted I shouldn't have the amount of debt I have currently, but thankfully things are a lot better than they were a few years ago with regard to income etc.

Additionally in the last few months 2 cards which I didn't want an increase in the limit have increased my limit by 3k. The one I wanted an increase on wouldn't give it to me.
Total debt at lightbulb moment (Jan 2010): £23410
    Target for Dec 2011: £17000
    Lloyds - Early Jan: £[STRIKE]2040[/STRIKE] Feb: £[STRIKE]2050[/STRIKE] Mar: £0
    Other Lloyds @ highest: £9800 Feb: £9800

    Current debt: £23420

    I got a £6000 credit limit.
  • My application for a Santander credit card has been a complete farce. Originally applied online on 17 Jan. Heard nothing for two weeks so phoned and after trying several of the no.s (having had some of the same issues as SportBilly) was sent a further set of t&cs to sign. Have since phoned again twice. Each time they have been unable to tell me anything other than my documents have not been received but also admit to a back log of applications & documents. When asked why they haven't yet cleared this, nobody seems to be able to come up with a straight answer. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told that none were available.

I have not been impressed with the service. The online application process made no reference to estimated timescales for the completion of applications (I assumed wrongly that it would be an instant decision like MBNA) and I have so far had at least five sets of T&Cs sent to me to sign. They have really got me over a barrel as I presume that my application will appear on my credit report so I would be unable to apply elsewhere at this stage and I am now paying interest on the 0% credit card which I planned to move the outstanding balance from to this new Santander card (£100 interest so far and counting!). Any suggestions as to what I should do?
  • Contact the Ombudsman who will write to Santander for you. It might be that you have to wait 8 weeks but what have you got to lose. As you say, youre over a barrel now.

Ironically when I mentioned I'd contacted the Ombudsman, 2 sets of T&C arrived on Saturday after applying online on 4th Jan. Quelle concidence !

Two week "anniversary" of waiting for the forms to return, not including the application processing for over a month. Should the alarm bells be ringing yet?

I thought I was lucky - applied, approved, got pin then card. Balance transfer went through.

Noticed though a couple of weeks ago the card wouldn't go through - first time I tried it - kept meaning to call to check as money was there.

Today I get T&C through post to sign -they haven't received anything and unless I send this back they will have to cancel my approced application.

My question is - if they haven't got my orginal T&C signed agreement, is this enforceable. They can happily cancel my application if I don't have to pay back what they have already balance transferred for me!

Nice thought...but will most certainly have received your original signed form. If you through the posts here you will see that people have been sent multiple forms to sign - I have got 3 myself.

Your card may have been blocked because of security or the usual Santander incompetence - call them to sort it out...all the best :D
  • I applied on 4th March and after reading this site yesterday I wasn't too hopefull but got home yesterday to see the letter to sign from them and send back. Needless to say it will be goiung recorded delivery! As other people have posted no idea of credit limit etc but will go through the forms carefully to check 0% balance transfer etc...

    Card received now.

I've called them about raising my credit limit and was told to write in to Santander Credit Card, Applications Appeals, Credit card underwriting, Abbey House, 201 Grafton Gate East, Milton Keynes MK9 1AN

Has anyone been told any different about how to go about raising their limits?

Thats the address I was told to write to as well..My copy of the letter is dated 3rd March but no response yet ..not even an acknowledgement.
